Short drive from Quebec City, and absolutely worth it! We were there a rainy day that had very few other visitors, so it was lovely to have it to ourselves.

This is such a beautiful area....we decided to drive off the main highway.,.took the backway which I strongly recommend...it is like stepping back in time...we stopped at Chez Marie...where they offer fresh baked bread with a maple syrup. Must stop if in the area. this road is at least 20 km long...the basilica suddenly appears through the branches..great place very quaint and picturesque...small shops and boutiques. and restaurants.. we stayed at the Quality Inn on the main highway.

We were a group of 40 Elementary School students, along with 6 teachers and parent chaperones, from Sarnia, ON:Our visit to Saint Anne de Beaupre Basilica was unforgettable and an experience I highly recommend to young and old, alike! The main Sanctuary was breathtaking with all of its intricate sculptures and hand-carved architectural features, not to mention the stunning gold throughout. The grandeur of it all managed to silence a busload of chatty students, and that's no easy task! This stunning Basilica rivals even some of the marvellous cathedrals and churches I have visited in England and Switzerland, and yet it is centuries newer than most of those! There is an excellent museum nearby the Basilica and a large gift shop on site, allowing for a well-rounded experience overall. You will be humbled by your visit and left with wonderful memories of everything you have seen!

We stopped here after skiing and before heading back to Quebec City. As we only had 20 minutes before Mass started, it was a very quick visit. We initially went to the museum and saw a chair and kneeler that Saint Pope John Paul II had used. Entering the basilica, we went downstairs and I thought it was quite lovely. However, going upstairs was a definite 'wow' - the magnitude and beauty was very impressive. If we ever go back to beautiful Quebec, we will certainly return here.

If you have the time, Ste Anne de Beaupre is about 30 minutes outside of Quebec City, and worth the extra drive. With a fascinating history of "curing" sick parishioners, this was my second visit. We went to New Year's Day mass and listened to the wonderful choir.

It was a beautiful scenic drive along the Saint Lawrence river from Quebec City to Sainte-Anne-De-Beaupre Basilica. We were impressed by the beauty and the rich history of the Basilica. You will feel closer to heaven and inner peace during your visit.

Peaceful and beautiful art. Spend some time, visit the 2 floors of the Church, take time contemplating the Church and the grounds. Lots to see. Take a bus at the train station. It cost more or less 12 $ round trip. It leaves at 9:45 am. You can choose to spend the day or go back to Quebec after 1 pm. Visit http://www.intercar.qc.ca/ssadb.qc.ca

Basilica is a huge building with a number of rooms and many styles of art, which are all keep restored. Church service was just finishing when we arrived, so were able to see both upstairs and downstairs areas. Well worth spending an hour or so.

A truly amazing and beautiful shrine not far from Quebec City. The drive to the shrine is also quite scenic taking you through Montmorency Falls. Well worth the drive.

Pilgrims from far and wide visit this church, its beautiful architecture, the mosaic and the relic of St. Anne is a sight to behold. If you are a Catholic, put this in the top portion of the bucket list! Hear Mass and see the small altars of different Saints set up behind the main Altar. The chapel underneath the Basilica is beautiful as well, this is a must-visit for everyone.Free parking, lots of hotels nearby, restaurants within a couple of kilometers from the Basilica.

If you are in the Quebec City area this is a side trip that you should make. It is about 15 minutes from the city and you can also take in Montmorency Falls on the way. The church is less than 100 years old and build in the Gothic style. It is the dominant feature of the landscape and cane easily be seen if you are touring on the north side of Isle of Orleans. The architecture of the church is worth noting - it is very ornate. The inside of the church matches the beauty of the outside. There is a pillar where people have hung their crutches after seeking healing by faith. There will probably be pilgrims there, many people praying at the reliquary of the St. Anne. Whether you are a believer or not, a visit to this beautiful church is worthwhile. At peak times parking can get tricky although there are several large parking lots that serve the church. There is an extensive gift shop beside the church where various religious items, including personal jewellery, can be purchased.

This is a spectacularly beautiful basilica, both inside and out. It was built in the 1920s in the Norman Gothic style. It is a Catholic shrine, and Catholics in the hundreds of thousands come each year from around the world to visit it. Many pray for a miraculous healing of some kind and some faithful claim that they have been cured of disabilities. Two pillars in the rear of the church have hanging from them the crutches, canes and braces of faithful who have made such claims. The basilica is quite large, more than 300 feet long and 200 feet across. The twin steeples are about 300 feet high. It contains some well-known sculptures by Joseph Emile Brunet, including one of Kateri Tekakwitha, an Algonquin Roman Catholic saint. The basilica draws its crowds during the summer. My wife and I visited in late October. There were no crowds and we could take in the beauty without being crowded.
