This regional gem is showing "Dream Machines:Drawings of the Great American Automobile" until 17 May 2015. For anyone even slightly interested in the post WW2 society, this provides a valuable insight into how we had the cars we did.Unfortunately, bad curating diminishes the overall effect. Eg poor contrast on the associated labels (black text on clear background attached to various coloured walls) with unsuitable font should not be the case when we know how to do this better. Some labels are placed below exhibits such that one must bend down quite low or squat to read them. Misspelling and use of American English rather than Australian also does a disservice to the display. Otherwise, well worth the admission charge. Recommended. Allow an hour.

A great little gallery showing some really impressive art. The Sam Jinks "Woman and Child" sculpture is incredible!

A great set of photographs depicting the Australian culture. It makes you wonder why we worry so much about the activities of youth of today. The Sam Jinks sculpture also makes for stunning viewing,

My partner, Lou and I visited the Shepparton Art Museum on 2/1/2015. The 2 ladies at the Information Desk were very friendly and helpful. The museum is filled with beautiful pieces of artwork. My breath was taken away by the absolutely lifelike figurine of "Woman and child" by Sam Jinks. I half expected the woman to open her eyes! Sam is truly a gifted artist.

Today we went to the Shepparton art museum. The exhibition was John Perceval angels. Wow. 38 of the Angels are on display. For the past 30 years I have been unsuccessful to buy one. To see 38 of them in one place is amazing. I have collected ceramics for 30 years, but the display at this museum blew me away. The exhibition is on until mid November 2014. If you have got the time, go there and learn about one Australia's best loved artist.

I thought the Museum was well presented with some very interesting exhibits particularly the statue of the lady with the baby - the detail in this statue needed to be seen to be appreciated.

Loved our visit with a group of enthusiastic young people - interactive displays was terrific and the staff were friendly and happy for us to play.

We spent an intriguing hour wandering the Shepparton Art Gallery. We went there because it was so hot outside we needed a cool refuge. We found a great art gallery with many interesting exhibits, and that was only upstairs because downstairs was closed while they set up a new exhibition. My favourite exhibit was Sam Jinks: Woman and Child 2010. The woman was so real I stood in front of her for quite a while expecting her to open her eyes and move!!!I can thoroughly recommend a visit to SAM.

Always changing exhibitions, plenty of opportunity to become involved with activities. Food delicious with an ever changing menu. Cakes delicious and home baked

I'm not an arty person and I loved this place. The people at the Tourist Centre said I should visit, so I did - WOW. They Woman and Child was amazing! I'm telling everyone about her. Keep up the great work

A great collection of Japanese woodblock prints of the very highest quality. To see so many Utamaros and Sharakus in one venue was a treat. The staff at the Gallery were very pleasant and well informed and the artworks were well displayed. The $12 charge for the exhibition was very fair considering the quality of the prints. Entry to the permanent collection is free. It finishes soon, so make the effort and you won't regret it. The food at the in house cafe looked good, but I think we did better just down the road at the Fryers Street Food Store.

A wonderful collection of prints from the Museum of fine Arts, Boston. The attendants at the centre were very helpful and could answer all our questions. Nice cafe attached to the museum. Well worth a visit.

It was a fanatic experience to see such a large collection of Japanese colour prints at Shepparton. There is a charge for entry to the Japanese exhibition, but well worth paying. Entry is free to the Art Museum itself. There are lots of interesting exhibits and the venue is well worth a visit.

Not as many paintings as we'd hoped, but ceramics is their thing, so we forgive them. Very attractive, new building, joined to the Eastbank performing arts centre.
