This is a small gold museum, but is free, so it is worth seeing it if you have the time. It probably take you no more that 30 minutes

Can't beat the price and the exhibits are nicely done. The gold was amazing, but I especially liked learning about the Zenu and the way they managed the flooding and their farming.

The Gold Museum, sponsored by a local bank, has gold and pottery displays dating from pre-Columbian people through the Spanish conquest. Explanations are in both Spanish and English.

A nice little museum which explores the history of the indigenous people of the area. There are good explanations in English and admission is free. The gold artefacts are beautiful and delicate and well worth seeing.

The gold museum in Bogota was much more impressive. However, Cartagena's gold museum was free and air conditioned. Information was also available in English. You may as well visit while in the walled city. The gold museum is very close to the cathedral, Bolivar plaza and Inquisition museum. It is closed on Mondays.

While this museum was small, it was a great part of our day to walk around a learn a bit more about the history of Colombia's indigenous peoples and the art of gold and metal working. Definitely recommend watching some of the short films in the small theater, they were fascinating.

We enjoyed the exhibits, which focused on the metallurgic work of Colombia's indigenous peoples. It absolutely worth a stop.

The museum was a respite from the heat and humidity. It's small, free and the descriptions are in Spanish and English which made it easier to enjoy this museum.

I spend 40 minutes there. There's nothing overwhelming, but it's great way to get to know more about Zenu culture. Moreover, the museum is free and located in the centre of wall city.

Excellent small museum, nothing on the scale of the Gold Museum in Bogota. Closed Mondays. Free admission. Excellent displays, very educational with info in both Spanish and English. Good video of various styles of gold molding and finishing processes.

It is a small free exhibition but complete with interesting objects. After walking under the hot sun, walking in this nice spot feels like an Oasis.

If you have ever visited the Bogota gold museum, you wont find this exhibit so special. If you are in the plaza and want to go, at least is free!

Yes, The Gold Museum is a MUST SEE in the beautiful old walled city of Cartagena. There are 3 good reasons to make a stop at this free musuem, honoring Columbia's long history with Gold.First, the displays are interesting with many ancient gold objects to view. Secondly, the musuem is centrally located, free, and Air Conditioned ( a must in this hot, hot city). Lastly, the museum has nice bathrooms.

A nice museum across from the Plaza Bolivar, the Gold Museum displays artifacts with good explanations in both English and Spanish. Attractively, it's free, the air conditioning is a relief in the stifling Cartagena heat and the bathrooms are spotless.

If you walk around the Old City, you will certainly at some point be on the Plaza Bolivar. This museum is just across the street. It is small, really a vault us three rooms, but it has some beautiful gold pieces, copper pieces and urns.there is also information on the indigenous people's over several centuries, Zenu. The placards are in Spanish and English. There is no fee and no gift shop. You can easily tour this place, including taking photos in 45 minutes or less. You may linger for the welcome air conditioning and respite from the constant hawkers. You will be greeted by them as soon as you leave.
