You'll see the building but not able to visit. It is like that for several years. If you are in constanta and nothing to do pay a visit, just to walk arrownd the place, and to see the aqvarium, few fishermans or Genovese pharos.Hope in a few years municipality will donate the building to a private company able to maintain it
It an old building like any-other, nothing special, in the winter be prepared to freeze your bootee, it the summer it's a pleasant walk on the sea coast.
it is in an advance state of decay, and that's so bad. it is a beautiful building, no fee since you can't visit it, it is closed.
Beautiful ancient (1910) casino on the waterfront. No evidence of use in decades. When I visited, there were several workmen cleaning up the grounds and a guard who would not let me peak inside. Hoping it will re-open soon.
We came to Constanta only to see this majestic building, because, honestly, there is nothing else to see or do in Constanta. It was worth the trip. On the other hand, it's a shame that it stands abandoned. I wish that someone will invest in the renovation of this site and bring it's glory back.
I know, I know... it's a beat up old building that's been abadonded for years. For me, however, that was the hook. Dispite all the Dracula-Transylvania hype, this old wreck - far from the werewolf inhabited forests of the Carpathian mountains - reminded me so much of the hotel in "The Shinning" that I could almost hear the sounds of a 1920s jazz bank seeping through the walls. As creepy as it is on the outside, our guide said that it was even more unsettling on the inside. I could just imagine finding an old sepia photo of Jack Nickelson somewhere hanging from a wall. Even if one of the Romanian oligarchs decided to renovate it, the ghosts would still call it home.
Like the city which has seen better days the casino over looking the black sea is majestic and looks a bit like a crumbling wedding cake. I hope that they will renovate as they seem to be doing all the area around the casino. I would like to come back if the do
Although the casino was out of bounds during our visit due to work being carried out on it, it is very ornate and is on the main portside promenade. Restaurant and gardens and lots of statues and walkways. A very pretty area.
its a pity its not been restored or at least some effort made. the area around is lovely and well worth the walk around
It's a nice view over the sea and although this place is very old and no one invested in it you may find an old atmosphere and you can read on the internet about it's history. Young couples and only them can walk on this path and admire the beautiful of this area which is near the main harbor.
When we came there we could just see it from the outside, the building itself was nice and old but if only the government took seriously to take care of that. Seems like in constanta or even in Romania, ancient things like this are a little ignored by the people or the government. It's located next to the sea, but really you'll get nothing there.
The position of the Casion it is close to the sea...The architecture of the building is very nice, but needs to be renovated, as it is very degrated...
Awesome place to visit! You cannot miss it if you go to Constanta! You can take great pictures with the Casino and the Black Sea in the background.
The building is in a terrible situation / degradation. Nice surroundings for promenade. In the night this place is a nightmare.
It's an old building which hosted a casino, a ballroom, a restaurant and many shows...but this was happening before 1989! After this year the building was left to rotten and today it can only be visited from outside. Rumours are going that a company will start the restoration of the building and I hope it will ''rise from ashes again''.
