Another great visit to the mayflower, love the exterior & even more so the interior of this place.Friendly staff, nice seats & everywhere is well kept clean & tidy. Pleasure to watch shows here.

The Mayflower Theatre is a 2300 seat Theatre which provides the South with the biggest shows coming from London and touring spectaculars. We have recently seen the likes of War Horse, The Lion King and The Bodyguard here. The theatre has a bar on every level, the more stylish being the Footlights Bar, which does fresh sandwiches, Nachos and toasted sandwiches and the Circle Bar. Ovation Restaurant is on the 3rd floor (Please see my review on this). The leg room in the auditorium is ok, I'm 6, 1 and it's reasonably comfortable for me but if you have problems with your legs then I suggest an end of isle seat. Ice Creams and sorbets are priced at £2.50 each.We have had many a great time here. The staff are friendly and happy to help.

I came to see Edward Scissorhands a brilliant show, Front of House staff superb friendly and efficient. It's a magnificent building but still prefer the ambience of The Kings and the more intimate atmosphere. Seats are comfy but a job to see the numbers clearly

I usually travel to London to see my favourite passion of musical theatre. After reading several reviews of some of the touring shows I thought I would give The Mayflower a go for a show I missed in the "West End"The theatre is beautiful and equal in splendour & size to many I have been to in the "West End"The Bodyguard was fabulous. The set, sound whole cast (special mention to Melissa James-I am sure she will go on to be a big star & the gorgeous talented little boy playing Fletcher) It was Alexandra Burke though that commanded the stage. She really rocked the part of Rachael & I am sure we will see her staring in many more musical theatre shows. I have already booked tickets for another show at The Mayflower.

This very grand Theatre has seen us many many times over the years. From Panto's to music shows.Live bands you name it we have probably seen it,well almost. As you are sitting in your seat, you tend to look around and your eyes start to rise upwards to take in the the decorative ceiling, with its clouds and sky ect.The surroundings are really something to study and remember.I must say it is a good time waister. As previously said it is old and so some of the facilities could be better(ladies if you need the loo perhaps be prepared for a bit of a wait). All the staff are wonderful and very helpful. There is a bar which can be quite handy if you fancy a tipple. The Ovation restuarant is quite something, lovely food,a lot better than the run of the mill. The usual ice creams sold at the interval. There is a shop, selling sweets ect. There are quite a lot of stairs to climb depending on your booked seat. There is a lift but not a big one. There is no parking but is a multi-story quite near.(you have to pay in the evenings as well as the day).Well what more can I say, book your seat,if you wish go on-line as it has a plan of the seating to give you some idea of the layout. Then just wait and enjoy!

Just been to see The Bodyguard at The Mayflower. A great evening. The whole show was excellent, particularly Alexandra Burke's powerful voice and great acting. The sound and lighting were also great. I have seen many shows here and always have a great night. We were sat in the stalls around half way back and had a fantastic view of the whole stage. The only thing which slightly spoilt it for me, and was nothing to do with the cast or production, was the behaviour of a couple of audience members a few rows back. This is such a shame as other people should not have their evening disrupted when they have paid good money for their tickets. Fortunately I think this incident was dealt with quickly by staff members so disruption was kept to a minimum. Apart from that, an excellent show.

Went to see The Bodyguard while on tour at The Mayflower. Fantastic show from beginning to end, you will not be disappointed. Alexandra Burke was brilliant but so too were Stuart Reid and Melissa James and the rest of the cast. Thoroughly enjoyed the show, the best I have seen for a while

Went to see The Bodyguard last night (27th Feb) and was not disappointed, Alexandra Burke was brilliant and so were the rest of the cast. Would highly recommend. An uplifting and feelgood show, brilliantly put together from cast to staging to acting to singing. Don't miss it.

I had booked 2 tickets for The Bodyguard for Friday 20 Feb in the stalls Row B. But sadly had an unexpected Family Beravement, and the Funeral was now on this day.I called the Theatre and spoke to a lady called Michelle . I told her of my circumstances, and asked if there was any way I could change my tickets. They did change my tickets for the week later( last nights performance). We also had fantastic Seats (stalls row A no 7 and 8)I really can't thank them enough. The show was amazing one of the best we have seen, and I have seen quite a free musical in London. The cast were brilliant it was truly amazing and everyone should see.It was a happy ending to a truly miserable month. Thank you again

Went to see The Bodygurd at the mayflower last night. As I had seen it in London previously with Beverley Knight was unsure if it would live up to it. Alexander Buerke was AMAZING. Her voice was so powerful and moving. It was a really enjoyable performance. There was a slight hitch with the set but this did not ruin the evening at all. The dancers were brilliant, the little boy who played Fletcher was so cute. What an amazing show

We went to see this Monday night, the show was absolutely excellent, I really enjoyed it. I wondered how they were going to make The Bodyguard into a musical, it was very goo how they incorporated Whitney Houston's other songs and made a real story to the musical.Alexandra Burke was simply stunning, her voice is amazing, it gave me and my friend goose bumps, she is equally as good as Whitney Houston. I would loved to have seen it again but it is practically sold out.Her last song of the actually musical, saving all my love for you is simple mesmerising.

When I say noisy I don't mean the performance, but the fellow theatre goers. Granted you can't help coughing especially in winter months when colds are out in force but the sound was deafening. Second only to the noise of people eating packets of crisps, surely not a wise thing to sell in a theatre? The sound of the rustling packets and the crunch of the crisps was really distracting! Are people really that hungry that they can't go an hour without eating? It's my first time at the Mayflower so I'll give it another go as there are shows coming up I'd like to see but if it's a common occurrence I'm sorry to say it will probably put me off returning. The show I saw was The Bodyguard and it was excellent.

I booked this theatre trip a few days before the show, got the last two seats, but we were not sitting together, in the same area BUT different parts of the balcony. I was in seat H39 my daughter was in L3 we met in the halftime. The show we saw was The Body Guard with X-factor Winner Alexandra Burke, she sounded every bit like Witney Houston very strong voice, I didn't see the first twenty mins as I was experiencing a hypo, but when I did start seeing this show was one of the best I have seen.I will tell you if you book seats in the Balcony area,if you can't walk up 84 steps as I did and then have hypo, wasn't told this beforehand there is a lift which takes you to the top (use it) it was the worst experience I have had and I can tell you I have done far more steps than that.this show at the Mayflower goes on to 28/2/15 if you can't get seats then look for it, it's on tour don't MISS IT you will LOVE IT!!!!!! I can now see why she won the X-Factor.At this theatre there will be Top Hat I saw this in London Brilliant showing from 12-23 May. Annie from 28/7-1/8 with Craig Revel Horwood. Name a few. I will be looking to do some more but will make sure our seats are together so if I experience the same again I will have my daughter with me.Go and enjoy these wonderful performances they are GREAT!!!!! Like we did. Parking for this is in multi-storey behind theatre if you going for evening performance and get there by six thirty the price is £4.50 until 8.30 the next morning. There are a few eating places around, we had no time to have a proper meal so went into the Costa Coffee this was very pleasant, there is a restruarant in the theatre, this maybe worth checking.

Alexandra Burke was amazing, but she is only doing some of the shows So before you book your tickets double check as some friends of mine where disappointed as the didn't experience Alexandra which is what they wanted

Double dateAt first it seemed jam packed with people. This was no surprise as we had arrived right as people were being seated. The crowd seemed to move fairly quickly, being shown to their seats. There were snacks and drinks available to purchase before entering the theatre. The show we went to go see was lion king and it was really well put on, the work throughout the stage was amazing. There is a bar downstairs for pre or post show drinks.
