My friend and I saw a very well done play here-- very simple set, almost like parlor theater. Before the play you can enjoy your own bottle of wine in the charming bar/living room, complete with free homemade cookies. A very enjoyable evening!

As my wife and I approached the door we were given a warm greeting, and met with friendly people at the ticket desk. The "lobby" is like someone's living room / family room; a very relaxed atmosphere. There is a bar there for guests to sit at and enjoy complimentary cookies and M&M's, and any beverages that they brought. The gentleman at the bar is happy to open any bottles of wine for you.The cozy little theater has under 50 seats. The stage props were first-class, and the acting was quite professional. We saw their production of "Sylvia" (a comedy about a couple and their dog) which was delightful. This was our first time at this theater, and we plan to return.

This is a very pleasant night out. Go with friends--it's warm and friendly and perfect for a fun evening. BYOB. Great cookies! Have fun! We saw and thoroughly enjoyed Par for the Corpse.

Fine acting, as you expect from Chicago area talent. This is a BYOB place, and they loan you the wine glasses and serve nuts and cookies. People hang out early and between acts. We have seen 5 shows and all were good and a very good value. Highly recommened.

This theater is adorable and is warmly welcomed in Glenview. It is a cozy space with a small stage and only about 50 seats. In the lobby there are some antiques and comfortable seating. There is a bar with complementary homemade cookies. There is no liquor, but is a BYOB establishment. The shows we have seen (four) were all very good and the acting is professional quality. The price is a lot less than going into the city. We are looking forward to going there again. Try it, you'll like it.

It's wonderful to find live theatre of this quality so close to home and at a very reasonable price. The play we saw (Par for the Corpse) was well acted, staged, and directed (a good story). The venue is small and intimate, with a nice bar (BYOB) and great snacks (really good cookies). The lobby is comfortable and charming (lots of oil lamps as decor).I highly recommend Oil Lamp Theater, and we intend to return soon!

I've attended two of their productions, both comedies, and had a blast. It is a very small theatre and you are right up there with the cast, but the two plays I saw were very well staged, well acted, and delightful. I'm signed up for the mystery thriller in June 2013 and look forward to it! I believe we should support the arts whenever possible and I applaud this troupe for creating a theatre experience in Glenview. They seem to have the ability to find just the right type of play that works in the venue and with the audience. Note: you are sitting on metal fold out chairs that can get a bit hard...but that is a small inconvenience for a fun night out.
