The Florida Blues exhibit is interesting for music lovers. Turns out Florida is well represented in the genre. But not much else. Worth a half hour if in the area.

Just looking for something to do in town and came upon this. Nice exhibit about local history, but the best part was the blues exhibit. I live the Blues and grew up,listening to many of the performers featured here. It brought the Blues right down to earth, right here in Florida. A pleasure.

This is a sweet spot if you enjoy local history with a twist of interesting exhibits that change frequently. While I went for the local color of Gainesville, I really liked an exhibit on The Florida Blues that was well done. Take an hour and take it in.

This is our local history, well presented. If you are interested in Gainesville and how it got to be what it is, this is the place to go.

So if you're a history buff or just want to make a connection with the past then you will love this adorable museum! It won't take up your whole day to go through it so lump it together with lunch at downtown Gainesville and you have a nice outing for the day! Also on display (and I am proud to say) you will see some photos there taken by my late great grandfather Elmer Bone. He started the first photo studio in Gainesville called The Bone Studio!! Check it out!!
