An Awesome tribute to those that served in Vietnam and Died in Vietnam. Also very Ecological Environment.Well worth the stop....
A co-worker recently stopped here on his way home from the coast. He recommended a visit. What a wonderful tribute to the brave men and women who sacrifice every single day and to those who paid the ultimate price. I felt so overwhelmed with emotion and gratitude.Without the memorial it would be lovely place for a picnic with shaded tables and Adirondack chairs looking out over the valley. But the wonderful memorial inside and out and the timeline of events related to the Vietnam War is so moving. No one should miss an opportunity to visit this spot. The building housing the Living Machine Waste Water Recycling System is also open with an explanation of the process.
You must really stop to see this beautiful Memorial and recognize those who have died and those who served in Vietnam Nam from Vermont, and are alive to tell their story. My husband served on the Midway for four years in the Navy and is a survivor, unlike far too many others. If you are traveling northbound on 89 toward Burlington, take a moment to stop, reflect, and remember.
Stopped for a "road break" - had no idea just what the impact of this would be. It was more than a rest area - it was a Memorial to the Vietnam Veterans of Vermont. It was moving, it was beautifully incoporated into the landscape of the Vermont woods. Stop, read the names, pay your respects the true warriors and defenders of Freedom. Be respectful and say a word or two for the brave and noble military. Amen
This is not your every day state run welcome center. Excellent permanent display of all Vermont Vietnam Veterans, Big display on how water is cleaned and recyled to run the rest rooms. Staff have excellent knowledge of the entire state of Vermont. Usually some displays of various attractions
