Yes, it is a bit of a hoakey tourist attraction, but their pitch is fun and the optical confusion of the building is unusual. I took my grandsons and they got a kick out of the experience. However, if you are expecting more, then you might be disappointed.

We arrived in time to join the start of the guide. We had some weird feeling like stomach turning upside down in the house of mystery. Mysterious. The guide tried hard to engage each and everyone which was appreciative. To us, the place is small and you will need a guide to enter the house of mystery.Therefore you cannot move around on your own which was disappointing .Many experiments are repetitive.. Try to go in the morning and you will probably have more time to move around. We were there around 3pm and they close at 4pm. Therefore we were being chased out.In total, it was 1 hour for $12 or $13 (couldnt remember) The experience is eye opening for first timer but it failed to wow us. Good experience for first time feeling the vortex but will not return again.

The Vortex turned out to be our favorite stop. It is interesting and confusing. I will recommend a visit there to everyone I know. It is so hard to describe the feeling you have when you are touring the site, truly an experience.

This is an interesting place to visit. Very unusual and different. Had an odd feeling while I was in the vortex.

Loved it!!!!But something to be aware of, I got an upset stomach while in the "area" but soon as I left I felt better. Still super interesting!! Hopefully taking my kids there for their first time this month.

I've been here 3 times and brought my fiance who'd never been. We both enjoyed the 45 minute tour and unusual phenomenon. Don't forget to ask for your military and AAA discounts!

I enjoyed the guided tour but still left scratching my head as to understanding what is occurring here. Nothing makes sense and the experts can't explain it either. Worth taking the tour just to experience it.

This place is about 6 hours from Portland and it is worth the drive. You can physically see two people standing on a level plank about the same height, changes to one looks taller than the other when they switch places. I have never seen an ordinary broom stick standing upright without any support and an ordinary glass bottle rolling yp a slope!!!!!!!!!!

We had fun and learned some stuff too! A good family memory.The kids enjoyed it. I would have liked to have seen more. It is short for the price.

This was the second time I've visited this place and brought some friends this time. It's about a 60-minute tour of a small area that has unique qualities. The house made my wifes and one friend stomach semi-upset. You can lose your sense of balence but that is all part of being in the 'vortex'. The tour guide did an excellent job trying to explain the various unique happenings. We bypassed the visitor guide finishing their talk in the gift center. Overall makes one think and is well worth the price of admission.

I have three boys and myself love adventure and curiosities. This place was great. The tour guide does a wonderful job of exhibiting the house of mystery. It certainly had us convinced! Worth the trip if you are touring the area.

When we moved to Medford in 1997 this was the first place my husband took me. It was an amazing place! It has all the mystery and wonder of Oregon in one location. I think this place quite literally made me fall in love with Gold Hill and Oregon. And even though we all know how the Mystery works now we still take every visitor we have directly there.It made me giggle inside like I did when I was a child. Its all outside and surrounded by nature. It's a wonderful family thing to do together and I highly recommend it.I have been 10 times and every time is just as fun as the first. Even better when you see your friends and families faces! :)

The atmosphere seems like something carved out of the early 1940s ...the script is a little better ....updated probably 1950s. There's not a lot of magic in the vortex at least not the way it's presented here. Sorry.

Mystery Spot, Gravity Hill, Mystery Hill, Haunted Shack.... Whatever you want to call them, generations have enjoyed these Road Side or Amusement Park attractions. They're fun and usually entertaining. People want to baffled ! We love to see or experience something that results in a, "How'd they do that?!" Whether it be called a Vortex or Mystery Spot, these attractions are known for their visual illusions. BTW.... There are NO services in the area! Attraction has Limited Souvenirs, OUT HOUSE Restrooms and no real food is offered.Uh oh! Did I give it away? It's "Supposed" to be about "Clever and imaginative Entertainment." I've been to the Santa Cruz Mystery Spot, Frontier Village's El Sito Mysterio, Knott's Haunted Shack and more. They all had varying degrees of entertainment factors. The defunct Frontier Village attraction was small but had the best tricks. That's what it's supposed to be about.... A Bunch of "Tricks and Illusions." The more the merrier!So... Oregon Vortex. This has to be lamest version of a Mystery Spot I've ever seen! They didn't even try to be convincing or entertain! Lets start with the GOOD STUFF. The VORTEZ can be found 4.5 miles up in a pretty residential area valley. (They're always remote). It Sits on a thick tree lined area with a creek running through it. It has the correct look at feel of a mystery spot setting, period. That's it. Now you can turn around and get back on the freeway. ;-)If you want the real review, keep reading. It's probably be more entertaining than this attraction.As I said, It looks good. Get your tickets! $12.50 a person is pretty hefty, I figured this would be a great show. They put us with a group that had just started with their tour guide. SO we missed info. Not very professional of a start. Guides for these attractions usually have a sense of professional character, theme or aptitude. Ours has none. Dressed like she just came off the road from hitch hiking, she managed to rapidly spew out a bunch of contradicting nonsense..... and it never stopped! Her spiel was so bad it contradicted itself about every other sentence. It was so rapid fire, no one could follow it. Children were instantly bored and adults all had that confused painful look. Lets get to it, I thought! Trick one was a common illusion... that the guide dragged out for like 10 minutes. Trick two, the Shack. This is usually the highlight! This where we (USUALLY) find water that runs up hill, maybe a pool table where all the balls go into one pocket, balancing feats, balls rolling up hill and a whole sort of imaginative illusions. NOPE! Not here ! A couple old gags and a whole lot of useless chatter. Trick three.... Was the same as trick one!Trick Four was the same as trick 1 and 3!!!! You have got to be kidding!Trust me when I say..... They don't even try! Of all the possible entertaining tricks and gags they could pull, you get barely anything. These Attractions have around for decades, maybe a century! I would expect to at least see the basic age old tricks, maybe some new ones. They could go on the Internet, find photos and instructions on how to better gags! The only shred of entertainment was watching a few adults, who must of "Just fell off the turnip truck" who were instant believers. :-OLazy, lame and complete waste of your money.Here's a quick list of past/present similar attractions.
