貌似内华达这侧的湖景,滩上大石头很多,湖水还是很清澈,远处有雪山,具体位置在湖的东北侧,夏天的游客会更多些,有水上运动

We came in from Sacramento and were headed to Reno. We stopped at Sand Harbor for about an hour .... the beach is broad and sandy, and provides lovely views of the surrounding mountains. The cluster of green-tinted mountains and the blue, blue water is particularly striking. There is a small pier if you don't want to get your . The only drawback was the difficulty in finding parking ... can't imagine what it is like when the weather isn't in the 40s.

This is a perfect sand harbor where you can sun or enjoy water sports relatively safely. Also, the water temperature is better here because it is not as deep as the rest of the lake. You can also launch your boat here.

We visited in the winter, but the view is breathtaking. The beach in in a little cove and the lake and mountains off in the distance makes the beach just an awesome place to visit. It is a perfect place to take the kids for a great summer day. The playground and surroundings are a great family day.

There is a reason the parking lot is full in the summer! Get there early and spend the day. Pristine clear water offers a great swimming area. (This is the beginning of the Trans Tahoe Relay across the lake!) Warm sand and clean bathrooms. Then there is the backdrop of the snow capped mountains and trees which are stunning. There are rentals for SUP boards and kayaks. The guys tried jumping off one of the huge boulders and we got some great pictures. You can also hike on a great trail across the road. Easy to spend the day here and well worth the drive around the lake.

Love it! This beach/park is the epitome of what Lake Tahoe has to offer: sandy beaches, giant boulders to climb, pristinely clear blue water, the stunning backdrop of the mountains...when in the area, if we have time to visit only one place, this is where we come. A great place to get your feet wet, bask in the sun, take a nature hike, watch a Shakespearean play, or even launch your boat.

We used to do Sand Harbor when I was a kid in the 70's. Since then, the parking situation hasn't improved and the crowds are worse. I'd pick a "friendlier" beach. Still, it's Tahoe... it's great!

This was supposed to just be a bathroom stop on our 72 mile drive around Lake Tahoe but it turned into an hour long exploration of the amazing rock formations. There was a sand beach on one side and an other worldly collection of boulders on the other side. It was hard to wrap our minds around what we were seeing. It looked like a giant's building blocks strewn all around the lakefront. We climbed all over the place taking pictures and clowning around. We are so glad we didn't miss this area on our tour of Lake Tahoe!

Sand Harbor at sunset is an extraordinarily beautiful place at sunset. It's peaceful, expansive, and breathtaking. I loved seeing the snowcapped mountains on the other side of the lake. But from the beach to the marriage of ice and rock, its definitely a place to spend with a loved one or to enjoy a nice meditation. I've attached a picture but it doesn't do it any justice to the way you feel and the way the air goes through your lungs once you set foot in Sand Harbor.

We had this place recommended to us by a local and we were very glad we decided to visit it. The whole of the Lake Tahoe region is beautiful but this is such a special place and well worth a visit.

lovley place to visit but not impressed with the sleigh ride 25.00 dollars per person to walk around the car park

The view is spectacular and the half mile walking trail, with detailed signs about the Tahoe area, is very informative. The beach is second to none. The huge boulders and turquoise colored lake are a feast on the eyes. This is a must see.

Incredibly georgeous beach. Visit it for Shakespeare in August, a wonderful month long event. Great for families, a nice clean beach, gentle waves.

We went here over Thanksgiving week so there weren't a lot of beach goers this time of year. This is a gorgeous beach with a boardwalk and a photographers dream! The boardwalk has placards along the way to educate you on the lake, vegetation, rocks, etc. There are boulders here the size of small Volkswagens. The water is crystal clear. Highly recommend stopping here for a short walk on the boardwalk. Be sure to bring your camera!

We have enjoyed going to Sand Harbor for day outings. Its a very nice beach area as well as a good place to go boating. The views of the rocks in the lake are nice to take photos of. We have visited in the summer and fall. Its pretty any time of day, but being on the east side of Lake Tahoe, its also a pleasant area to watch the sunset over the lake. There is a day use fee here. Parking is plentiful but on a busy summer week-end its best to get there early for a spot.
