Nice venue with good seating anywhere. A little disappointed in the sound quality but still enjoyed the show. Inexpensive food and drink at intermission including alcohol. Row K is the first row of the less expensive seats. Really good.
No matter what type of show you want, check the schedule and plan your trip. If it's on stage, it's Top Level quality. AND the "Underground" is great for Date-night or school kids depending on your needs
Reno has a really great list of art attractions. The symphony is first class and depending on the time of year there are Broadway comes to Reno shows with outstanding traveling companies, opera sometimes and local talent. It is worth knowing what is on
We've been here several times for such events as the Philharmonic and other performances. The theater is well laid out, the seats are comfortable, the acoustics are good, the sound system is excellent, and the lighting system meets the needs of modern expectations.A good place to go for good performances!
The Mrs and I gave this a try it was my first time here. The seating was good. No one blocking us from seeing the stage. The sound could have been turned down just a smidge. The Mrs went to the consession stand and reported that the prices were reasonable. The first experience was good and I would go back to see another event
Pioneer Center is an excellent theater in Reno; it brings in very good shows. There is the large performance hall as well as Pioneer Underground.Pioneer Undergrond has a lot of very good comic shows. In Jan 2015 we when to the afternoon children's magic show and had a great time. There was a teacher from Yerington there (who lives in Fernley) who did a great job of MCing and telling some kid friendly jokes. The magician was Justin Rivera, who was on America's Got Talent, the Improv and the Magic Castle. This is a very well run comedy club. The only thing I do not like is the steep staircase into the club (but I know what a good time I am going to have). ,The theater itself is very comfortable and generally you can sit where you want. There are some table seating closer to the stage as well. I also attended later in the week the BYU Young Ambasador Show in the large Pioneer Center Performance Cente. The Young Ambassadors is a very talented group of singers, dancers, and musicians from Brigham Young University was amazing The price of the show was very inexpensive but made for a wonderful night. Their theme was Love Songs - just perfect a couple of weeks prior to Valentine's Day.The seating at Pioneer is very good and sight lines of the stage are excellent. There is a very large free parking lot across the street from the Pioneer Center. We usually park at this lot and easily find a place to park.I always check to see what is playing here when in Reno as the Pioneer is a delightful performance center.
Pioneer's Broadway series brings quality road productions of Boadway shows, (Jersey Boys,Chicago, Etc.) to Reno at reasonable prices. Not a bad seat in the house. For food before or after a show try El Fuego for tapas or the Sienna Resort Casino for "Happy Hour". Plenty of free parking in the lot across the street.
We have had season tickets for Broadway Comes to Reno. We have seats in the first row, center of the balcony. Every show we have seen has been great and the acoustics are wonderful in this theattre.
Pioneer center is such a nice place to see a show, wish they had a more diverse offering, would be a great place for an intimate concert. I like the seats in the balcony, never have to worry about seeing as the seating is stacked like an IMAX theater. They need to add more refreshment stands as the lines are always long. But over all the venue is great. Go see a show there you won't be disappointed by the venue.
We have seen several shows here. Today we saw the well done The Little Mermaid (local ballet and the Reno orchestra,) We have seen in the past theater shows (they put on several each year) and also Blue Man Group. All the seats have a good view of the stage. Locals enjoy going. They have snacks for sell such as water, drinks, snacks that you can take into the theater. Very reasonable prices. There is a large parking lot (free) that is across the street from theater. In addition, there is a comedy club here that does comedy on week-ends.
I've been a season ticket holder for the Broadway series for many years. There is nothing like Live Performance - it's a shame there are only 5 events a year, but at least we get the chance to enjoy the shows. The theater is centrally located downtown and the staff really make you feel welcome when you are at the theater.
The prices for attending anything at the Pioneer Center are very reasonably priced. Seats are comfortable, and view from any seat is excellent.
We have been season ticket holders for several years. Almost all of the shows are wonderful. The few exceptions (Hair, Defending the Caveman) are just a chance we take with season tickets. We always look forward to each show and will continue for many more years to come.
Not and avid classical music fan but this orchestra may change that. Wonderful sound and great experience
I like classical music concerts especially. Unfortunately there aren't enough of them in Reno. But this facility is a good place for them. Very limited parking availability for the handicapped and elderly, unfortunately.
