It is surprising indeed that a small agricultural town like Santa Paula would have three good museums! This one, located in a beautifully restored building, is well worth a visit!

The Santa Paula Art Museum is housed in the old Limoneira building in downtown Santa Paula and is right next door to the Santa Paula Oil Museum and not too far from the Museum of Ventura Agricultural Museum. If you are in Santa Paula you should visit all three of these museums as each shows a different part of the art, culture, and history of the area.Congratulations to Santa Paula for being the home of these three small, but wonderful museums. If you are in the area I highly recommend you take a few hours and visit all three!

For a small town, this is a really nice spot. It's well worth the drive. Have lunch while you're there and make a day of it.

This art museum is such a pleasant place to visit. The building is beautifully restored, and provides a wonderful backdrop for the exhibits. Right now there are three exhibits which are definitely worthwhile--the gorgeous sculptures of Michele Chapin, paintings by Susan Petty, and portraits by painter Gail Pidduck and photographer John Nichols. These are all local Ventura County artists who are very talented. The gift shop is also a terrific place to find treasures at good prices, and we have always found the people who work here to be friendly and informative. We are so fortunate to have this lovely art museum in Santa Paula.

It is a small, yet very wonderful art museum. Many of their exhibits show beautiful artwork. The volunteers who work there are very, very friendly.

The museum is walking distance from the Santa Paula Depot and three other museums. One of the several murals in the city is outside the back door. There are two main exhibit spaces and while the museum is not large, it has many wonderful exhibits, many owned by the city. The admission price is modest and we enjoyed our visit. Plenty of free parking behind.

Have only been here once - liked it. Have a painting on display with them now, too.

This relatively new museum ( less than one year old ) is located in the heart of a lovely agricultural area centered around Santa Paula. It is in the completely and attractively renovated Limoneira building, the former home of Limoneira, the major citrus products company. Located in the middle of the downtown next door to the California Oil Museum, it is easy to reach for anyone driving the Coast on Route 101 by taking Route 126 a relatively short distance. The turnoff is just south of Ventura. The museum mounts separate exhibits of locally and nationally known artist with an emphasis on plein air. Their most recent exhibits of the work of Bert Collins and the Botke family were well worth a trip. The museum has a small gift shop (as does the next door California Oil Museum ). Santa Paula has two excellent Mexican restaurants as well as Hozy's, a fine restaurant with an extensive menu and world class wine list. Naturally, the town is also equipped with the usual fast food outlets. This is a rare find in a neglected tourist area.
