meadowdale beach park

Yeah, I know that's selfish. On weekends, this park is so popular that parking becomes a real issue. Still, Meadowdale is an absolute gem! A skinny ravine snaking all the way down to the sound. As soon as you enter, you're in another world entirely: large trees, rushing water, steep slopes. At the very bottom, the park opens into a lovely grassy picnic area. And then, through a spooky tunnel under the railroad tracks, a truly spectacular Olympic panorama! The beach is sketchy, but the views make up for it in spades. We go frequently (the hike up is a real heart-pounder, which makes for lovely exercise), and come back smiling each time.

Don t expect signage to this beach park with yards (a mile or 2 maybe, ask the locals).of shorefront. It s a good walk to the beach from the car park (1 mile) and you need some fitness hike some distance downhill to the beach. Expect forest/trees, some wildflowers (in spring) trails, a picnic zone with WCs. To get to beach you have to hike, occasionally wet your feet (depending on season, tide) and width of stream in the tunnel underneath the viaduct/overhead railway track.Once you reach the beach, just chill and enjoy the ocean. Also a good place for transpoting,As not to raise expectations, don' t expect Deception Point panorama. This is just a small park and a hidden gem the folks at Lynnwood, Edmonds etc.and me who is visiting relatives and like hiking.
