WOW! there is a full size racing shell and a fabulous poster show about Boys in the Boat, Joe Rantz that the museum did themselves! I got to meet the daughter of Joe Rantz!!!! Amazing!!!The art exhibit was fabulous, really some excellent paintings of animals and boats. Will definitely be visiting the next time we are in Sequim.

I went to the First Friday and it was like a new museum- people were having fun, there was live music, and a book signing. Someone said that the guy who was the former director had tried everything to close the place down but I am glad for the town he didn't succeed. The art exhibit was Fiber Arts Festival, and it was really displayed very well. There was a lot of pieces I would have expected to see in larger museums. The history displays were lovely, antique garments with jet beads. The place had been repainted and the exhibits all had labels with no spelling errors. It has really done a complete turn around and the atmosphere was lively. We talked to a lot of the volunteers and plan to come back during Irrigation Festival and for Lavender Festival as there are some special shows during that time.

We liked this shop/gallery. I was tempted by many things and bought a copper bracelet with traditional designs and a salmon teatowel. That sounds like a typical tourist experience but it felt authentic and they had really beautiful copper sculptures - i especially liked the salmon copper ones. Next time we are in the area, we will stop again.

The photo shown is the Dungeness Schoolhouse, which is the property of the Museum and Art Center. The actual museum is located at 175 W. Cedar Street in the town of Sequim. It is a wonderful small town museum that is currently in the state of transition.

I don't think it is the right photo. I went to this place and it was in the business district in a small space. Half art show and half history museum. Much smaller than it used to be. It's only OK. Has some information about the area, but not much

We went there several years ago, and then just took visitors, but it has really gone downhill. They are now charging $400 for artists to exhibit art, instead of supporting the art community. The history exhibits are not well labeled. . What happened to the lovely musuem that was there a few years back with great art, and well done exhibits?

It only cost a couple of dollars so the price wasn't bad. There wasn't much to see. I thought the art was odd. There was a vido about some bones found in the area that was interesting.

These folks do a great job of creating displays of local history and art in the small space available to them. The volunteer staff are very friendly and helpful.

We take our out of state guests there and are always in awe of the local history and on occasion see the guest live duck who is the pet of one of the staff. We were given a bumper sticker "i hugged a duck". The local artists are incredible and offers so much to the community as well as the visitors.A wonderful place to visit over and over!

I enjoyed walking around the museum and seeing art, jewelry and photos by local artists. A great place to purchase art and small gifts with local appeal. The mastodon bones were an unexpected find in the museum.

This is a small town history and art space. The crown jewel of the museum is the remains of a mastadon found nearby years ago. Interstingly, Science magazine just published an article on how the finding has cast serious doubt on previous theories of how/when man came to North America. The local who was staffing the museum had all sorts of great adice about places to go/visit, roads to take in order to best enjoy the area. Admission is free but a donation is suggested.
