Scenic tour of Bald Head Creek. Not a lot to see in an hour, but fun overall. Guide was pleasant. Good for first-timers.

The entire staff is friendly and knowledgeable. We have taken several Fun Sail trips and Dan and Justin are fun, safe and educational as well. They don't "overdo" the educational part, but we always find out something new about the area. We also have taken several guided kayak tours and have seen amazing sights and also learned a few things along the way. If you don't do one of these trips while on the island, you haven't experienced the island the way it should be seen. TW

These guys rock. We did sail lesons, kayak rentals, Sailboat rentals. My 3 kids loved these guys. Staff was beyond accomadating, Sail coach ,Justin, took my 9 year old from novice to confidence and by the end of lessons, my son could rig the boat, sail it and break it down with minimal guidance and do it while smiling. Great accomplishment for my kid but huge props to Justin and Harper. Great people. The place offers many activities and the attitude owner down through staff was always positive. Really felt like they appreciated our business.

On recent offshore and creek kayak fishing excursions captain Charles and Matt put us "on the fish", and I had the pleasure off watching my son land Spanish mackerel, sea bass, flounder, and trout. Meanwhile, Yuri was teaching my other son how to handle a sailboat. Call the week before you arrive on island to make reservations, as slots full up fast - Allie and Dan will graciously help arrange your activities. And don't forget to have a Luna pop back in the shop when your trip its over.

My wife, two children and I spent the last 7 days on Bald Head Island. This was our second trip to the island. We enjoyed our stay very much. The best activity was a 2 hour guided kayak tour through the marsh. Our tour guide, Alli, was very informative. After a quick lesson on how to operate the kayak (this was our first time in a kayak), she rowed along side us chatting about what we were seeing. She knew a great deal about the marsh, the history of the island, and the wildlife - especially the birds. The marsh is very peaceful and the pace was perfect. My 13-year old son and I enjoyed the experience very much. I expected to be eaten by bugs, but was not bitten once. Use sunscreen and bug repellant. Our family did lots of things on the island, but this was the most enjoyable.

We've been going to BHI for 14 years and this May 2021be was the best since we were able to book a sail with Justin! My 14 YO son Will was encouraged to skipper and we had a fabulous time looking at the sealife/birds and even freighters of the BHIwaters. He gave us options for available routes and was a great host!

We have made three birding boat trips with Dan on Bald Head, but today was the best. We were out over 2 hours and saw hundreds of white ibis, numerous American oyster catchers, dunlins, curlews, ruddy turnstones, herons, ospreys, and even a bald eagle. We cruised past Battery Island and through the marshes to Buzzard Bay, enjoying the scenery, peacefulness, and abundant bird life. Dan is a great guide and a real pro at spotting and identification. Thanks to him we also saw diamondback terrapins and a loggerhead turtle. We always enjoy a trip with Dan, but today was the best. Not many people know about these power boat tours, but they are a real treat.

My husband and I made a trip out to Bald Head island this year, what a wonderful place to visit! We knew that we wanted to see the island from a kayak and what a great way to see it! Dan, our kayaking guide, was extremely knowledgable about the creeks as well as all of the wild life we saw. It was a wonderful day! This is a must do for anyone that comes out to the island!

Looking for something to do with three teenagers, we tried the 2 hours sailboat tour. Our young guide was friendly and knowledgeable. As soon as we left the marina, the kids were allowed to take the tiller as we headed out into the ocean. With a great breeze we were able to sail close to the wind with the wind in our faces and the sails full and heal that baby over as we raced through the channel. The kids had never sailed before and had a fantastic time.

I have been going to Bald Head Island with my family for quite a few years now. I always wanted to go kayaking, but never seemed to get around to it when I was on the island. This year I finally made it a point to go. I made a reservation at the Sail Shop on the island for the sunset guided tour of the Bald Head Creek. Our guide Alli really made the whole experience great! She was there to show basic paddling techniques, for beginners like myself, and she also pointed out various types of wildlife that we saw. I enjoyed every minute of it and I really got to see a totally different perspective of the island that I’d never seen before. As we were paddling back, the sun was setting right next to Old Baldy. Talk about a picture perfect moment! You can't get much better than that! I would definitely recommend this tour to others and would love to go again the next time I visit Bald Head.
