The birds were beautiful against the snow. I was there for a business trip. It was nice, but cold. there were people enjoying the Indiana warmish weather and walking their dogs.

I stayed at the inn at Mccormick's Creek state park for several. The staff were very friendly and the inn was very clean. Although the inn h ad a rustic theme, many things needed to be updated. Electrical outlets in my room needed to be change, you could not keep an electrical cord plugged in. The restaurant was okay, not great. Service was slow and not all that friendly. I would recommend the inn to others because of the beautiful surroundings, but stop at that.

We enjoy hiking, and these trails were very good and well-marked. Some easy areas, but most are up and down ravines. Take plenty of water and dress for cooler (or colder in February!) in the ravines. Take plenty of water. This is one of our favorite Indiana state parks.

My wife and I have been coming to McCormick's Creek for over 30 years. This is a well-maintained, first class recreation area. We have visited Turkey Run and Spring Mill in Indiana. McCormick's Creek beats them hands down! There are miles of trails from short/easy to long/rugged that allow you to experience the beauty of the White River canyon area. The park has plenty of shelters and picnic areas for the day visitor as well as a large campground and excellent lodge (Canyon Inn) for those that want a longer time to explore. Their online presence gives you plenty of resources for planning a visit. The facilities include horse trails, handball, basketball courts, an outdoor pool and a rec center. We especially enjoy hiking the trails during the winter months. We usually couple our 2-3 day visits with trips to Bloomington and Nashville, IN.

For only $5 (if you are an Indiana resident) you can walk around all of McCormick's Creek State Park. Their trails are well laid out even covered in leaves and the #5 trail had some park benches to rest on if you like. I highly recommend getting the map of the park when you first go in so you can see all your options. The staff was around but not intrusive though once night came they got more active. There were even some campers out and about post-Thanksgiving there.Besides camping spaces (tents and vehicles both) and trails to follow, there are other things to do such as stay at the hotel or rent a facility to have a gathering at. It isn't far from Spencer, Indiana, so very middle part of Indiana in terms of travel. You can bring a picnic or go to the hotel to the restaurant but I'll see if I can review that separately.

This is the most beautiful State park. Whether you come for the day, come to the inn or come to camp, you will love this park. The campsites are all wooded which is very unusual for most parks. The trails are wonderful to hike. There is a saddle barn where you can take a 45 minute trail ride or hike down to the falls. You can reserve a shelter and have a picnic or enjoy the buffet at the inn. I highly recommend this park as a family destination or a great romantic outing!!!!

We love coming here in the fall, the colors are awesome and this park has the best scenery. We love to camp, but the bathrooms are extremely dated, and one of the camp loops only have 1 comfort station for that whole area. I think we stayed in spot 172 and liked it, as well as 127 (if I remember correctly). The spots are nice and roomy, especially if you only have a small camper or tent or pop up camper.

We have visited this park many times, but we particularly love it in the fall. Upon arrival, we took a hike on Trail 3, rugged trail to the Falls. Photo ops were fantastic as the colors were vibrant and the falls flowing. The area was quite beautiful, but also serene & peaceful. We were able to get great shots from the viewing platform. We too visited on a Monday and felt as though we had the park to ourselves. After the hike, we made our way to the Canyon Inn for some deluxe Blackberry Cobbler ala mode. We highly recommend the park and the Inn.

I only went to the state park for the waterfall, which was worth the trip. The park had excellent signs guiding you to the falls, parking is tight at the falls, but there is a large lot about an eighth of a mile away that everyone seems to ignore. It was a relatively easy walk to the viewing platform. The falls were full of families climbing and playing in them, as I stood in horror expecting something bad to happen (all was well on my visit). I think I was just jealous since I would surely get hurt if I climbed the falls! A steep stairwell that is a little slippery takes you down to the creek and there were lots of rocks to walk on. Good shoes are a must. Lots of families were frolicking in the water having a great time.

we have visited this park before and decided to come back and do trail three again. This is a rugged trail only when hiking the riverbed and there can be some very large trees downs and hiking stick comes in handy and someone to give you a helping hand if you are a little short and need helping climbing up. we like a challenge so this trail is fun for us, but you can see the falls without doing the trail by coming down the trail from the exit of the trail and heading to the falls directly, and back out without ever getting in the river bed. we went on a Monday and found almost no one around very few cars packed in inn lot, and a few folks walking down to see the falls.

We had an absolutely wonderful time at the McCormick's Creek State Park campgrounds. I am a geocacher and was able to find a couple of different cache locations with my son. We also enjoyed a horse back ride through the woods as well as walked some trails that lead to Wolf Cave. The area is beautiful and very well maintained. The pool is very nice and also well maintained as is the entire campground area. The only "bad" thing was the raccoon's, they are absolutely fearless and will definitely be at your site during the night hours so make sure to batten down all food items!!!

Indiana's first state park. Most campsites are fairly level. No water or sewer hookups. Nice wooded campsites not too crowded together. Very nice hiking trails. Bathrooms and showers were dated but clean. Friendly staff. Nice playgrounds for kids, swimming pool in park.

Beautiful park with lots to do and see. Friendly staff. Campsites are a little on the small side, but well shaded.
