children's museum of fond du lac

Paying $6 for a one year old who cannot do much here was not worth it. Its only free for under one, I think this should be under two. Make sure you know there is a membership as the girls at the front desk do not tell you and were not friendly. Yes it is posted, but lets face it when you have kids to deal with its hard to have to read this, especially with all the other people in line to pay. We found out after we already had paid $24 dollars to get in and paid for a class there. They said sales are final, to me this is not nice and made our decision to not go back easier. My kids had fun, but there were a lot of areas that were dangerous and so you have to really watch your kids. Some stuff was dirty like they don't wipe things down and some things did not even work. I expected more learning things to play with.

We took our 2.5 year old son here last weekend in an effort to beat cabin fever! Price is $6 per person. There was a toddler area with a smaller slide for little ones. There is also supposed to be a train set to play with - the table was there but there were no trains for the little guy to play with. Another exhibit is supposed to let you build a "track" that you can roll a ball down. There were no balls for the track. My son really liked the exhibit that allowed you to move bricks around on a conveyor belt. There is an outdoor area, but I cannot comment on it since it was too cold to go out there. It was a fine place for an hour or two of fun BUT, I know the Children's Museum in Appleton is about $1 per person more and has easily twice the amount of things to do. If you are really looking for a day of fun, make the drive up there. It is much more worth it.

Touted as an interactive museum, there was actually very little to do. I visited with two grand nieces, age three, and they both seemed bored. One nice feature of the museum was they were able to get a "passport" and have it stamped at each of the countries attractions we were visiting. Most of the machines were not operable and the exhibits were usually in disrepair. At the money exchange exhibit, you could see the various types of coinage and currency used throughout the world. Sadly, much of it was stolen from the laminated pages on display. Will not revisit; and I live in this town! The museum does host birthday parties for large groups, however. Seems most suited to a very young audience with parental assistance.

You will be amazed all the play stations your child will encounter. They start with the World map and pick up your passport to travel different destinations. Wonderful staff, prices affordable for family plans. Convenient location and then you can stop at our lovely Lakeside Park.

My daughter(2.5) LOVED the pizza parlor and my older nephews were happily entertained for a long time by a wall mounted, customizable "marble" type maze. Overall, I would say its geared toward quite young children and im pleased to say I just heard they added a nursing area within the museum!

Kids love the different areas to explore. Each time we go I see signs of what is to come or being expanded upon.

The building is brighter and cleaner than the old museum. The additional floor space makes it much easier to navigate. Unfortunately, many of the same attractions were just transported to the new location. Disappointing were the Montreal radio station which still doesn't work and the station where you should be able to shoot golf balls through a maze of tubes. The one ball available got stuck and no more were available. (Lost?) Very friendly staff and a nice but rather uninspiring outdoor area. I wouldn't suggest for children over 8 or 9.

Building the Great Wall of China, touring the world, producing your first show , discovering foods that a more nutritious in an interactive way or running your own Pizzeria--these are just a few of the activities for children (and families)at the Children's Museum of Fond du Lac. The colors, designs and activities are made to stimulate both sides of the brain and immediately engage children. The new space, which corrected old space limitations, is colorful, open and stimulating. I took two grandchildren there and we spent four active hours. Fond du Lac demonstrates how much children are appreciated with this great space.

The Fond du Lac Children's Museum was a good stop on a rainy afternoon. I liked the open layout, which permits parents to rest in a central location and watch their children as they explore freely. My preschooler had a blast and could have played all day. Her favorite exhibits were the pizzeria and the shadow gallery. But my older children (8 & 10) blew through the exhibits and lost interest in about an hour. I figured this would happen, as they are accustomed to visiting large, urban museums. What was unique about this experience, however, was that all guests were invited to a special STEM class in a separate room. It amounted to a simple craft, again geared towards a younger crowd. Even so, it was a neat option. And it seems as though these classes occur regularily in some variety. We all agreed that the museum is a great addition to this small-town community.

While space is limited the plans to update and expand will be welcome to Fond Du Lac. I feel it is a bit pricey for a smaller town and an expensive place to take your child to play for it's limited offerings.

this is a must go for the family. You can enjoy the whole day and the kids will have a blast. Bring your camera. lots of stuff for that KODAK moment.

My four year old Grandson had hours of fun. The staff was helpful and friendly. They pack a lot in a small space.

My 15 month old daughter and I visited the museum with a friend and her two children (ages 3 and 5). All of the kids had a really good time! There is a designated area for infants/toddlers with a gate. All the toys in this area are soft and there's even a slide for the little ones! The museum also has a puppet room, craft room and pizzeria with play ovens and pizza. Although on the small side, we had a lot of fun playing here and ended up spending a couple of hours at the museum. This is a nice way to spend the day if you're looking for indoor entertainment!

We spent a day here while visiting from San Francisco. My kids (ages 6 and 3) love coming to the museum! I could not get my kids to leave...they were having so much fun. I highly suggest a visit if you have young children and will be visiting Fond du Lac. The museum staff were very friendly as well. It is a great way to spend a day together as a family. Centrally located and easy to find.

I have to say this is the first time I have been to the childrens museum in fond du lac. I went with my son who is 3 and two nephews who are 2 and 3. The boys had a blast. There was a lot to keep them busy. We literally spent the whole day there. I would definately go back again. I thought it was very safe and kid-friendly. It is not as big as the childrens museums in Appleton or Milwaukee but it also wasnt as crowded either. I would encourage others to check it out.
