bacon memorial district library

I grew up going to Bacon Memorial and so did my kids. It's just a great place in a great location. Everyone is friendly and plenty of resources for all to enjoy.

Even though I don't live in Wyandotte anymore it is still my library of choice. I love the helpful and friendly staff. They also have great programs for kids and adults. Also I love walking around in the old Bacon home.

this library is not only old and a historical attraction, but it's haunted! many things to look at besides books. walk down a few aisles alone and watch who may pop up! the place is definitely haunted. if you're not a believer come on in, you may be one when you leave.

This library is part of a historic house that was donated to the city by the Bacon family. They have a free tour the first Saturday of the month at 10 am, and will take you all through the house and explain the history. The house and library are also suppose to be haunted, some of the workers have stories about the ghosts.

Wonderful historic home that has been preserved as a local library. We were in Wyandotte chasing family history. My great-grandmother came from this area. The Bacon Library has a wonderful local history collection, upstairs, that provided me with much information about my family. We spent a couple of hours going through different collections, although we could easily have spent a couple of days. The library staff were great, offering suggestions and helping orient us to find materials. This was a great find for us.

The library is housed in an old mansion. The old part has not been altered and the rooms have been left as they were with the addition of magazine racks or book shelves. You can therefore visit an old house for no charge. If you go to visit the Ford-Macnichol House , don't forget to cross the street.
