After watching the brief video and discussing our plans to visit a few battlefields and historic sights one of the employees came over to see if we needed anything. She showed us a flyer about a one day event that day, Sheridan's Field Hospital, living history. We only had a little time left but ran over there immediately. So glad we did! And so glad she suggested it!

After visiting the Patsy Cline Historical House one of the tour guides suggested we visit the visitor’s center in order to get more information on the city. It was close by so we decided to stop by and check it out. We're glad we did. It appears to be a fairly new building and the gentleman that was behind the counter was very helpful in explaining what was in the area and even gave us a map and highlighted the route for us to follow to get to the places we wanted to visit. There is a short movie that you can watch that shows all the attractions in the area and other interesting tidbits. There is also a section that contains some Patsy Cline memorabilia, very interesting. If you are visiting Winchester and the surrounding area we suggest that you stop by here before starting your sightseeing.
