The inside waterpark is wonderful and great place to take young swimmers. The staff are very nice. The only negative I have is I wish when you book water parties you had more time in the party room. The time is too short to do anything.

Well. The pool size is little compare to the summer crows. However. It is nice for residents in the area.No food or drink is allowed

My friend and I took our girls to Splash Valley today. The entrance fee is only $6 on Wednesday's. The facility and water is very clean. Two BIG slides that our girls really enjoyed, a lazy river (no tubes in this lazy river) a smaller "big kid" slide and a splash and play area with little slides for toddlers and young kids with some cute water spray things. A walk in entry makes it easy for the little kids to get in. The food was reasonably priced in my opinion. For example you can get a small hotdog basket with fries and a drink for $4.00. A pretzel for $2. They offer a souvenir cup (no lid that I'm aware of)for $7 and unlimited free refills for the season. So it's worth it if you plan on coming more than once. People complain the lifeguards aren't friendly, they shouldn't have to be. They seem to take their jobs seriously and they really WATCH your kids. I'm glad they aren't just sitting around chatting with everyone. I guess the only thing I'd say is if you are thinking you are coming to Emerald Point ... this isn't it. But Emerald Point is gOing to Cost a lot more too. If you just want a nice, clean place to take your kids for the day and let them play while you relax this is it. . I live 15 minutes from it and I appreciate it. I'd also recommend going as soon as they open. After a few hours it tends to get busy.

SPLASH VALLEY It is definitely a fun place to spend the day with our 2 boys, ages 5 and 12. The little kid area is amazing and the the 2 slides are a blast for kids and grown ups. However, we must not be the only ones loving the place, since every time we have gone, and we go during weekdays, it is packed to the max. They do have snacks and food for purchase, but I have not seen many healthy options, so we pack our snacks and lunch, and it is allowed to bring your own, what is extremely nice.GRRC We have only been to inside pool was, but we did like it and the kids enjoyed it quite a bit.

I have attended GRRC and SVWP many times. Even joined for a short attempt at getting in shape. Yes, to those that state it can get crowded, you are correct. But that is simply a sign that people like it and go there to use the facility. It is not so crowded that you cannot use the resources there. If what you need is being used, simply go on to another piece of equipment and then go back to what you wanted. Simple science. As an ex-BAC member, I prefer the variety and the cost better at GRRC. BAC does not offer enough variety. My only negative with GRRC has nothing to do with what is currently offered as much as the one thing I wish they would add...a dry or wet sauna. That would make it a perfect well-rounded gym. The facility is modern enough to feel like you can enjoy an escape from Roanoke. The beautiful outside surrounding combined with the building, that is exactly what you can feel...like you had an escape.

I've had a membership here for over 2 years now. It's a great place to workout, equipment is updated and new stuff added at least once per year so you're always working out on the newest equipment available.January - April can be pretty crowded especially if you arrive to workout around 5:20-5:30 p.m. if you get there during that time you better not have your heart set on one piece of equipment or you will have to wait. May - December isn't as bad during the peak workout times. The "water park" is quite small and they can easily reach capacity on a Hot day, so if you plan on going on a very hot day you need to get there as early as you can or you will be denied entry/have to wait until people leave before you can go in.Sadly they still do not give a discount to people who keep a yearly membership with the gym to use the outdoor water park, but they also have an indoor pool that members can use with their membership pass at no additional charge.

I personally HATE this place! The rules are ridiculous and inconsistent...no jewelry on the slides, no watershoes (really? it's a WATER park), no outside food or drink even for babies! They gave out beach balls at a special event BUT no beach balls are allowed and we were told to take them to the car. NO goggles that cover your nose...truly the list goes on and on!! Just one day there and you will see so many unhappy guests. Broken chairs galore! Unfriendly staff...be prepared for a bag search. Do not waste your time or money here!!

They pretty much offer the same exercise and routine from any gym in Roanoke/Salem and offer a little more. There non Roanoke County Resident cost is extremely high. And even if you are a Resident you will pay much more than you would if you used the YMCA. The biggest selling point for them is there little mini indoor/outdoor water park, But for a little more you could go to Emerald Point and have tons more to do.

My family started visiting Green Ridge using day passes about a year ago, and finally decided to join. We love the variety of activities available there, and the wellness equipment is updated often and well maintained. In ther summer, Splash Valley Water Park is a good value and the best public pool in the area.

I was member of the Botetourt Athletic Club for a couple of years and decided to try Green Ridge since it was cheaper. I was a member for about two months before I decided to call it quits. It's very overcrowed. It's not worth the money i was saving when while I was there, I couldn't accomplish what I wanted. There's nothing wrong with their facilities, I guess I'm just spoiled by the BAC. I'd rather pay the extra money.

We've been few time this and last summer. July has great water temps. Look for specials on the website. They are always running discount days.

Took my track team there and we had a party. Great time had by all 60 of us. We can't wait for next year.

We did the inside water park and had so much fun and it is inexpensive. The kids had a blast on the slide and the whirlpool. Very clean.

I had a great time there, everyone there was really friendly and it was a pretty low price for 6 people.

The outdoor - Splash Valley: My niece & nephew (ages 7 & 15) ask to go to Splash Valley every time they come to visit us. Admission is just under $10 per person, but the kids stay entertained for hours. It's more like going to a really fun pool than a large-scale water park, but there are 3 'big kid' waterslides, as well as a smaller slide & play area with water sprays for younger children. There are also bathrooms with showers, lockers, and a snack bar. They don't allow outside food/drink or floats. The indoor - Green Ridge Rec Center: Great facility, very clean, on the north side of town, just off Peters Creek Road. Nice workout facilities, classes, & indoor pool. The lap lanes are tiny, so if you're looking for a place to get some serious lap swimming in, I'd recommend the RAC or BAC instead. My husband & I did take a swim stroke clinic class here when we were training for a triathalon that was great.
