Fun Fun Fun. The only draw back is when one kart has a problem or runs into the wall they slow down all the karts. The speed is controlled electronically so you cant ever get out of hand. For those who want to go fast this might be a drag!

This place is expensive but I got a groupon deal and thought I would try it. We went on a Sunday afternoon and had a 3 race package. One other group was there so they went and we were told we would be in the next race. After our race we waited to go again. About 15-20 minutes had passed and we didn't see our names come up so we asked when we could go. Then we were told its now reserved for a kids party and we could not race anymore that day. If they had told us time was limited in the beginning I could have come another day. So we didn't get to use all the races we purchased and no other offers were made to make it up to us.

I've been here about three times now, the place is great. It's a bit expensive at $25 per race which typically last about 10 minutes excluding the wait that is usually about 30 minutes depending on how busy they are. Although it is kind of pricey the go karts are fast and fun to drive and make up for the time when you are waiting for your turn to race. Also going with a large group is fun because you can all race together and at the end see who ranked highest.

It was raining the day we went (April 2013), so the best feature about this track: indoorOverall I had fun, it wasn’t crowded so no long wait. I always felt safe in the “kart“. My cousin and I were a little nervous about wearing the tight helmet, but the staff provided CLEAN head covers (nice touch). After the race, we did found rubber from the track popped up into our clothes and helmet… we just dusted off each others backs.

I have been here a couple of times since my husband belongs to a racing group and naturally this is one of the types of places the "boys" like to race when they are not on the "real race track". They seem to have a really good time and I would believe most children would really be excited to go here.

Our GPS could not find the address as the building is in the middle of no where. We eventually just stumbled into it while we were leaving to go back home. But it was $22/person for about 5 minutes on the raceway which seemed pretty high to us. The cars are safe though and the track stable. They had racers wear hat socks that looked a bit suspect... I wondered when or how they were cleaned last? They simply took them out of a big box and told us to put it on our heads, underneath the helmets which they fitted for us. :-/ They did not have lockers to lock your purses or personal items in though which made me uncomfortable. They had me put my things right on the counter in front of everyone while we raced but nothing was taken or misplaced. No pictures are taken of you on the race-track which is kind of a bummer and let-down. I figured if you paid all that money for 5 minutes that you'd at least get a commemorative picture or funny certificate.

As expected, the venue was crowded on a Sunday; therefore, we had to wait patiently before it was our turn to race. Once you strap up and get in the cars, the excitement begins! It was great racing my two sons and I found the vehicles to be fast without being dangerous. There were also separate races for younger children. All and all, I would recommend for a father's day out with his boys.

The Frisco Texas, Pole Position Raceway (P2R) in the Northeast Dallas area is easy to get to, but from Arlington where we were staying required using a lot of toll ways. Our computer based GPS program found the address easily and correctly (not always the case with MS-S&T), driving to the location we saw several signs and markers as we got near it. We could clearly see the building from the street and parking was plentiful and convenient. My grandson (14) and I (67) are both GoKart racing enthusiasts with better than average performance. This was our first visit to the Frisco P2R. The P2R staff was friendly and helpful. Since each of the P2Rs are independently owned, we had to go through registration process again. After asking the CSRep to get the Manager for me, he was kind enough to acknowledge our membership purchase at the Houston track, and allowed us member pricing for the two races we were to run on this visit. Our first race was with a bunch of newbie’s, and after talking to race controllers, discovered that as I thought we had been running at reduced power levels. While this is a good safety feature for newbie’s it is a hindrance for experienced drivers, even on a new to us course. I hadn’t realized that we had paid for and were scheduled in to what is considered a “Youth Race” at $16/Race for members and $20 for non-members. The Youth Race is for racers more than 56” tall and you can be unlicensed (hence the power restriction), while the Adult Race requires a driver’s license, which my grandson does not have. After requesting the power restriction be raise for us (considering my grandsons experience and first race results), on second race both of us were able to better our times by 1.5+ seconds (that’s a lot for us). IMHO The safety rules and operation aspects of this track are excellent. The power limitations and briefing are for safety, and the nature of racing on these tracks is for time, not first across the line, makes for an exciting and enjoyable experience. On the first race, I got blue flagged, which meant I had to let my grandson pass me (not what I wanted to do), but the race controller was right in flagging me (darn it). In our race and in those I observed, bumping was minimal, and in most every case incidental to racing, that is an indication of good race management and rule enforcement. The track surface is excellent and smooth so that does allow the Kart to slide easily. On the second race we both discovered the additional power was easy to overuse on this track. The track layout provides both speed and challenge, while our times only got down into the mid 24s it was easy to see that improvement could be made with practice. The Karts we drove seemed very evenly matched, so it really comes down to the driver’s skill. My grandson beat me in both races by around .3 seconds, which is something he’s been seriously trying to do for the last 5 years! I tried to claim a handicap of .5 seconds due to age, but he says “NO WAY”!! As I’ve mentioned in other reviews, the cost at P2R is higher than at a K1 Speed track, but even with that I highly recommend this track to those willing to part with the extra $s especially if it’s closer to your location. The thrill and challenge of controlling one of these superfast electric carts is something to be experienced by anyone that ever dreamed of racing. If we’re in that area again, I can assure you we will return and hopefully break into the 23’s.

This is a very fun place for young adults and older adults. My grandson did the ten laps while visiting Liverpool, New York in June 2014 at the Destiny Mall in Syracuse. This is the largest mall in the state of New York. If you can not find what you want in this mall you need to stop looking. It is about five stories and has everything. A great place to take the children also for there are many things they can do here.

Go karts are fun: it's why you are here. But customer service slow and indifferent. Pricy too. Head socks and rented shoes for a 10 minute race. If you don't need to fulfill a karting need. Pass.

Forget movies, dinner, ... all those family excursions where you don't visit with each other. Lower yourself into the coolest electric go carts and spin around an indoor race track at speeds up to... well... faster than I can take a curve. It's an adrenaline rush like no other... everyone's laughing... fun family competition... relaxed atmosphere. And on Mother's Day, I raced for free and my boys were ecstatic to be honoring me and having so much fun do so! We are members and go often. LOVE Pole Position!!

It is a safe place to allow your children to race electric cars. They also have different for the more experienced

mcharrison90

way too long a wait and the place was barely occupied! We bought the 'family plan' (there are 5 of us) for $200 and after 4 hours we only were able to use 6 of the 10 races that came with the package!! Poorly managed and no consideration to speed up the process~The website makes this look like a fun action packed family outing, but the truth is we waited 45 min to an hour to get to drive the Karts. Keep in mind we went on a Thursday at 12 noon and the parking lot was barely full. I cannot imagine how bad this would of been had there actually been a decent sized crowd.

My adult son asked to go here for his 26th birthday. These aren't kiddie karts...they're the real deal! The facility is located in a sports entertainment zone in my hometown of Frisco, Texas, in a large warehouse. When you enter, you use one of several iPad stations to login and register (if you're a first-time racer). Once registered, you pay for the number of races you'd like to run in, and they do offer a membership for $50, which gets you a discount. We weren't ready to invest in that offer just yet, but if you wanted to come here often as a hobby, then it makes a lot of sense. There are two types of racing, adults and kids. We didn't have anyone under 17 in our group, so we paid for 3 adult races. After this was all set, we waited about 15 or 20 minutes for our turn. While waiting, we sat track-side on barstools and watched other racers zip through the curves and straightaways. If you're hungry, they have candies and snacks, plus lots of different types of soft drinks in bottles and cans. They also have several popular racing video games against one wall so you can get a little practice before it's time to get suited up. The entire place is decorated with race-themed items, and it really puts you in the mood to anticipate the fun you're about to have. There are several monitors overhead that show you the line-ups for the next three races. You can then see when it's going to be your turn. After a while, they called our names to go to the "pit" to get ready. They give you a clean head cover and you pick out a helmet. They have all different sizes and they are all in good condition. If you're a first-timer, you have to watch a short video that goes over how to operate the karts and the safety rules. Once you're past this, you put on your helmet and check the overhead monitor for your car assignment. When they tell you, you can get in your car and get buckled up. The cars have 4-point harnesses, so you feel nice and safe. There is also a back head rest and a roll bar in case your kart flips. The likelihood of that happening is pretty low in my opinion, because the karts are very wide and low to the ground. Now for the race itself. The pit crews tell your group to start going forward to the track entrance. You go one by one with some distance in between, and the crew has a remote which puts a governor on your car that will limit how fast you can go. As you get on the track and start making your first lap, the crew hits the remote and opens up your kart throttle to FAST! We were off and running and boy was it fun! The curves are tight and fast, and the cars really hug the curves, although you have to watch your speed around most of them or you will spin out. Spin out or bump the rails or other cars too many times, and they will pull you off the track. You're racing against other drivers, but you're really racing against yourself. You get 12 laps, which go by really fast. If someone spins out or otherwise stops, they hit the throttle governor and your car automatically slows down so that no one crashes at full speed into a disabled kart. It's like real racing when the yellow flag comes out.Once your race is over, you pull into the pits and get out of your car. Remove your helmet, and the head cover goes into a bin to be cleaned and ready for another racer. While you wait for your adrenaline to return to normal, the team prints out a record that shows your performance on the track, giving you lap speeds, your finishing place, and helpful tips on how to improve your driving. The website says these karts can get up to 45 mph and I would believe it. This particular track has about a 50 yard straightaway and because the karts are electric, the throttle feedback is immediate. Hit it, and you feel the acceleration and your kart goes ZOOOOOM!I rated this attraction a "5" because it's new, clean, and fun. The staff were all friendly and professional, and the equipment was in excellent condition. It's not the cheapest attraction, but you really get what you paid for. We spent $75 for three of us for one race. Was it worth it? You bet. I'm not a big enough fan of kart racing to become a member, but I can see the advantages of signing up if you wanted to go once a month or more. I would definitely go back if one of my boys asked to go there again. All in all, I give Pole Position Racing in Frisco two thumbs up!
