Took my grandkids and everyone found something that engaged them. Art is what it is to whom ever...some you will appreciate and other things will leave you wondering....

The staff was very nice and friendly, but the visitors were RUDE! Definitely NOT native Texans, based on their behavior.

The exhibits in this small museum in downtown Kerrville are constantly changing. Right now, the Kerrville Camera Club is exhibiting their works. The variety and expertise of these photographers is awesome for a small town like ours. I always try to make this exhibit. Another favorite exhibit of mine is the Quilt Show that is presently on view. The quilters make small wall hangings interpreting a photograph. Their creativity and talent is amazing.Today, there was a new exhibit of geological formations, maps, and an amazing video showing the land development over the ages. This one would be worth a permanent exhibit somewhere. My husband and I enjoyed our visit today. If you are in Kerrville, drop in at this free museum. You will be entertained. And you can shop in the museum shop. What is not to like?

This small building sometimes holds surprises that will blow you away. Last week we went to the unveiling of a new sculpture on the front lawn that was just beautiful. Inside was more fossils than I thought I would ever see. Not just fossils, but other bits and pieces of history that you would not expect to see, especially here in Kerrville. On the wall were maps of the history of Texas, what it may have looked like millions of years ago, plus many more interesting things. Items of interest for the whole family. In another part of the building were paintings and also my favorite a mini Ferris wheel carefully built by hand and it works. You just have to go by and see all what is offered.

Located in downtown Kerrville, the Kerr Arts & Cultural Center (KACC) is a gem. It is free to view the exhibits, which are constantly changing. It has a nice shop, featuring work from local artists. Today, they were hosting the Southwest Gourd Art Show. I always try to make that one. I am absolutely amazed at the artists' creativity and imagination. The show gives you an entirely new perspective on a simple gourd! The museum is not large, so it can be viewed in a short time. It is well worth a look if you are in downtown Kerrville. Check the website for current exhibitions. Next door is the historical Schreiner Mansion Museum, but that is another story.

The center had the American Plains Artist Annual Show displayed. It was a well rounded show. The staff was nice and helpful.

Enjoyed looking at the artwork on display. My daughter especially enjoyed the fluorescent minerals display in a small room. There's no admission fee.

We visited this Center with my wife during a short trip to Kerrville. We found that the facilities were much more than what we expected. The exibition was presented professionaly and the information desk and the voluteer in charge were very polite and good informed.

This arts center is located in the heart of downtown Kerrville in a former post office. A wide variety of exhibits are showcased throughout the year, from pastels, to original oils, to sculpture and more. When we visited, the annual Furniture Show was just winding down, where dozens of custom wood furniture makers from around the state exhibit and sell their creations.Admission is always free; doations welcomed. Definitely worth a quick stop.

Loved the variety in 2 and 3 dimensional pieces plus the "black light" exhibit room. Good gift shop, bathrooms, and cool air conditioning, too. Free, but donations accepted, and well worth it. Open Tuesday - Saturday, 10 am - 4 pm; Sunday 1 - 4 pm.

There is always a new exhibit going on at the Kerr Arts & Cultural Center, so it bears a repeat visit if you've been there before. Most exhibits are centered around talented Texas artists from the Hill Country, but you'll also find a wide array of mediums throughout the year that bring in outside talent, including watercolor exhibition, quilt show and gourd show, This museum also hosts the famous Texas Furniture Makers exhibition each November....incredible pieces of hand crafted tables, beds, artwork, chairs, clocks and so much more. Check out the website to find out what is going on when you go. Also, it is FREE! Allow an hour or so when you go. Closed Mondays. It is also in downtown Kerrville, where you can walk to the Schreiner Museum, roam through some of the galleries, and have a great meal at a nice variety of restaurants.
