There's not a lot to this park, mainly a boat ramp and some restrooms. Johnson Park at the bottom of the hill is a better park. It has a playground, and some really nice trees for the kids to climb on.

We went to specifically see the Park lit up with Christmas lights. We were thrilled with the displays. The city has done a wonderful job.

Johnson Park is an awesome place to have a family get together or birthday celebration. Your close to the water, sand volleyball court, playgrounds for the children, restrooms, and the pavilions are all covered and provide electrical outlets and lighting.

We went to the park for the Walkway of Lights display just before Christmas as part of an overnight trip to see Christmas lights in various communities. Even looking down at the park while entering town, it was beautiful with the lights reflecting on the water. It is a walk-through display with numerous two-dimensional light sculptures. Admission to the display was free, but there was a box for donations. The sculptures didn’t seem to be arranged in any particular order or according to any theme. One small menorah sculpture seemed to be the park’s single acknowledgement that other religions have holidays at this time as well. The park appears to function primarily as a recreational park in warmer weather. There are picnic tables, tennis and basketball courts, and a pool. The park seems as though it would be of more use to locals than tourists, except when special events are held here.

I was there just after Christmas. There was a marvelous light display right on the banks of the lake. It was really pretty. I think the park, when it is warmer, it a wonderful place.
