Our kids introduced us to Pflugerville beach and my wife loved it! Pflugerville is located just north of Austin. Pflugerville beach (actually a lake) is right off Pflugerville Parkway and Weiss road. Parking, loading & unloading is restricted to the actual lot; therefore no vehicles are allowed to be positioned on or around the shore. This was a pleasant surprise since many Texas watering holes allow vehicles right up to the water’s edge. Because it was a relative long carry from the lot, in the future I will bring a cart to transport supplies to and from the beach front. We brought our small dog, two canopies, grill, and tons of food. The beach provided canoe rental which we took advantage of. The toilet facilities were a reasonable walk for adults and kids. The area also has a club house and large pavilion for those that wish to host an organized community event. Next to the club house is a play zone for the kids and a walking path for adults. There are several additional smaller pavilions scattered around the lake waiting to be reserved. Our Story; we love the outdoors. When possible, we swim, picnic-Bar Be Que and camp in one shot. On this day we planned to boat and BBQ on the river bank near downtown Austin. Unfortunately there is a standing open fire restriction in that area of the city, we were unaware of this city ordinance. As a contingency our kids suggested we go to Pflugerville beach in Pflugerville Tx. Pflugerville beach was very clean and had lots of grass surrounding the sand. Sadly there were minimum trees, thus visitors must bring a canopy to stay out of the sun. Not knowing what we would find, and already disappointed our expectations were not that great. However, Pflugerville Beach Lake was well worth the trip. In fact we’ve grilled there twice since our first outing. I hope no one actually read this review, I want to keep Lake Pflugerville to us select few.

My husband and I have gone here a few times with just us and with our kids for walks. The kids enjoyed looking at shells down by the water and one of our dogs really enjoyed playing in the edge of the lake. There is a playscape area, kayak rental, beach and pavilion by the main entry. The only downside is that once you start around the lake there is no way to shorten the path if you need to (dogs get too hot, kids get too whiney) and you either have to finish or turn around and go all the way back. There's also no shade which makes it toasty in the warmer months, which our older pug can't handle. There's always been people there, but never felt overly crowded.

Great find for me! If you are training for a 5k then this is the place for you! The full circuit around the lake is 3.4mi according to MapMyRun.The track around the lake is all gravel, but there are pulloffs for benches, mini-docks, and piers. There is a kayak rental place (it was closed when I was there on a Tues afternoon) and a swimming beach. They have a few covered picnic tables and a restroom and a little playground for the kiddies. The only thing about the park is if you intend to do the full circuit, pee first as there are not restroom facilities around the lake, only at the main eastern entrance. Also, be sure to bring lots of water and sun protection as there is absolutely no shade to speak of on the trail, not joking, not even a tree! It is super windy as well, so if you don't want it to fly away, strap it down! But, the walk I did was nice and I took my time as some vistas across the lake are very pretty and you can see some interesting wildlife. I saw two HUGE birds that I assume are falcons flying and they were so majestic! Also, saw the biggest turtle that I thought was one of the huge rocks in the shore until it scuttled into the water. The ducks are great entertainment as well.

A friend took us there to go fishing, but the wind stirred too much mud, so fishing was out. Relaxing and enjoying the view were in, though, so we positioned our chairs and sat back to look at the very lovely scene. It was fun watching the water and waterfowl and the walkers, bikers and joggers and we were truly happy that there was such a nice place in their midst.

Man made lake, extremely well kept, offers lots of places to sit and enjoy the scenic view. Has small beach and swimming areas, children amenities, well kept restrooms, covered picnic tables.Extremely pleasant walk circling the lake. different spots ideal for reading, playing, sunbathing or just relaxing.

We went there on Valentine's day afternoon. Nobody there. That what i wanted. Our daughter love the ducks and birds. We brought a tent with us. Which was very helpful. Cuz its a new manmade lake. So, there is no trees big enough to give u shed. Very clean. With bathroom, water fountain, playground, couples covered picnic table.

A quiet spot to get some sun, walk the trail, or go fishing. I enjoy taking my baby for some sand play time.

This man made lake is not all that old (hence the smaller trees). It has a very nice walking path that circles the lake. A small beach, picnic areas and docks for fishing are free for use. There are kayak rentals for a fee. Many families come out to swim on the weekends. No motorized craft are allowed so it is a peaceful place. One of my favorites is to watch the frequent kite surfers on windy days. They put on quite a show! Just a nice little park to walk your dog, have a picnic with a place to swim or take advantage of a walking path that has decent scenery. This also home to the local 4th of July festival and fireworks.

Brought my dogs down to the "lake". Muddy bottom, lots of duck stuff. Of course Texas I'd in a draught but really not anything to get excited about, The good thing is that Pflugerville has some good family activities out there, the best being 4th of July

Murky water, no trees. Very barren. Don't understand why anyone would come here.Won't be back.I don't need 100 characters to tell you not to come here.

This lake is manmade and has rock and sand/dirt bottom. It's pretty clear. Has been stocked with fish for fishing. Has a nice long trail around the lake for good exercise. On one side is a pavilion where you can rent kayaks. The best time to go though is for july 4the fireworks. it does get crowded so take a shuttle and get there early with a blanket/seats to claim a spot.

This was such a GREAT find during the dog days of summer, there were only about 3 other families there on the entire beach... The shore isn't really 'sand' more like gravel, but I'm not complaining. Only thing, when we visited, there were only 2 tables available, so bring your own chairs or blanket and umbrella if you have one.

There isn't much exciting about this lake but its a good 3 mile get it done run. There are a lot of bugs so keep your mouth closed. Its fun to see the same people there visit over visit and there are restrooms.

No motorized vehicles allowed, making this a great place to practice your open water swims. You can do a brick workout too - a trail circles the lake and there's good cycling nearby!
