The Western Heritage Museum is in a new building on Highway 40 next to the library. It's well worth a stop. When we visited, there were the usual displays and artifacts, a quilt show and a traveling Smithsonian exhibit. Wow! Our group of adults and young children loved each area we visited. And they had a wonderful little gift shop as well. The staff are great -- knowledgeable and passionate about their work and this museum. Don't miss this gem!

This was the last stop on our weekend getaway to Vernal. We decided to stop by in the morning before we headed home. We had six kids with us ages 3 - 11 and they all enjoyed looking at the stuff in the museum. Please note - the museum is not at the address listed on 200 S, it has moved to hwy 40 by the library, so make sure you know where you are going before you head there. There is no fee, but they do accept donations. I probably wouldn't go out of my way to go to this museum, but if you are in the area and need something to do for an hour or so it's nice.

Charming museum that seems to be run by people with a passion for the west. I enjoyed the First Lady doll exhibit and all of the old machines.

Wife and I loved this museum. Lots of things to see from Vernal and Utah's past. We went during the county fair and it was free, so that was a plus. If you like historical artifacts this is a great little museum to go to.

The Western Museum is a wonderful place to learn of the history of this area. The displays are very well done and the info provided is factual. Wish we had but more time aside to visit.

Indian artifacts are both educational and extremely interesting. Good display of Costumes, old appliances (like typewriters for example) took me back to my school days!

This is a wonderful museum for all ages to visit! It is informative and fun to see dinosaur skeletons, learn about them and this area so rich in our nation's history and formation.

If you want to see how the pioneers lived this is a great little museum. Also they have local artists and monthly shows that are pretty cool.

This museum is small but has a lot of things of local interest, a display of inaugural ball dressed First Lady dolls, a nice gift/book area and and area for revolving exhibits through out the year of things like local paint, photo and kids artists, great quilt exhibits, Christmas displays, etc. We live local and go several times a year. The DUP museum near the LDS temple also is interesting.
