may prairie natural area

Went there as part of our birding organization's state meeting and this was an organized field trip. Loved how beautiful and clean it was. Enjoyed the birding and wildflowers. Also enjoyed seeing how they maintain it and are making improvements to it, for the people and the wildlife. Hope to visit it again.

I really do not understand why this would be listed as an attraction. It is totally undeveloped and there is no signage to even let people know where it is. It would take a serious student of nature to research and find the site.

The 250-acre May Prairie is a recognized National Natural Landmark located near Manchester, Coffee County , Tennessee. The one-mile loop trail is a bit finicky but sufficient for exercise. The mosquito’s were more than plentiful during the time of our visit but overall is a nice little prairie and swamp area worth visiting at least once.After turning off U.S. 41 be sure to watch carefully for the small parking area which is on the right side of Asbury Road as it is not prominently marked.
