I arrived on a Saturday to find a sign in the driveway stating that tours would only be on Sundays. I was a bit disappointed, it looks like it is situated on a nice piece of property, but not sure I would ever go back just for a tour... It's remote, with some amazing properties around it. It was also a bit hard to find, my GPS didn't map it's location well.

My daughter took me here as a birthday gift and we had a wonderful time. Make sure not to bring small children and don't come if you are expecting a Homewood Suite or similar facility. The place is spectacular. Make sure to take the tour.

We enjoyed very much our stay the other night, but it was a very unique experience. I wouldn't exactly call this place a bed and breakfast, that is why I am only giving it 3 stars. Basically you are renting a room (they only have 2) in their private home. I understand that is the general concept os a B&B but this is different. You almost feel like you are imposing on their space. The breakfast is a muffin, some grapes, and juice, coffee and tea. There is no tv in the room. That being said we loved our room (we stayed in the dungeon room it has a private entrance) and you are literally on the same property as the Millbrook winery which is nice. We were there for our anniversary so no tv was ok, but it may be a deal breaker for others. The owners are quite interesting but have a lot of pride in the castle they built with their own hands from the ground up. I would have rated this place higher but it is not a typical B&B, and others may not love this place.

I wouldn't have found Wing Castle without Tripadvisor, so it is my hope that this review brings others to this wonderful place. My husband and I stayed in the dungeon for one night. Just about every inch of each the buildings are filled with magical finds. You could play a game of "I spy" for weeks and still not uncover all of the treasures. The recycled materials come to life in their new environment. If you are looking for a fun experience and can survive without television, this place is for you -just bring a good book, a bottle of wine, and a vivid imagination. Thank you to the Wing family for opening up their home. We could have listened to Peter Wing's stories all day.

This "house" needs a lot of work. The place is run by only 2 people,(they are the cleaners, recepcionist, managers, etc) husband and wife,The husband believes he is a vietnam heroe and is constantly checking the entrance to avoid turists taking pictures (without paying) If you want to pay over $250 and stay in a place following this family's rules do it. I felt observed all the time and I just wanted to leave early in the morning. There is no professionalism. It's like being in jail paying. The water in the pool is black. full of frags

I went to Wing's Castle to hideaway and work on my novel. I couldn't have picked a better place. Peter and Toni are fabulous and their home is a living work of art. It was a great place for inspiration. They gave me some private space in their "Buddha Room" out back and I got much more work done than I expected! Call well in advance, they book up on the summer weekends pretty fast.

Mr. Wing is a true craftsman and visionary as 80% of this amazing castle is built from recycled material. The best part--it's secluded!

This is a truly remarkable and special place to visit and/or stay. We had rented the Dungeon room for two nights, and despite my car breaking down on the way, the owners were more than happy to accommodate us and even give me a lift to the local winery (Millbrook Winery) to pick up a bottle of wine. Made from recycled materials, with love, grit, and sweat, this is a wonderful place, with lots of nooks and crannies, and a truly eclectic collection of historic memorabilia inside -- perfect complements to a creative castle such as Wings. Great stay!

Wing's castle was built by Peter Wing after he returned from the service. He has used mostly found materials to build the outside and the inside of his castle which he and his wife, and earlier his children liv ed in.The bathroom is a hoot - but I won't give away why. The first time we visited many years ago Pete had a raven living in the kitchen. It really added to the decor. The castle sits atop a hill way above the Millbrook winery. The many times we have visited Pete was our personal tour guide. Don't miss the moat!

peter greeted us at the entrance--to me he was another Vietnam vet --with a extreme imagination--and a lot of creative time on his hands--welcome home brother--

I have seen the castle from a personal level. I found so many things to be unique and interesting. I actually found myself using my imagination of living in a castle. Peter and Toni are wonderful people. I have learned so much from both of them. Their children are a treasure. Even the mortar shoots on the lawn were exceptional. Wishing them a long run in this beautiful castle. If your looking to be inspired. Pete is the way to go.

MY mom and I walked the castle maybe 10 years ago back then the tour was $6.PP I found out about the castle from an old magazine Called COUNTRY DISCOVERIES (which has since gone out of business)...The owner Mr wing led the tour, I found it to be very interesting given he build it with no real know how in this sort of building My mom wasn't impressed

When looking for a B&B to stay in while in Millbrook, NY, I found this castle. It was hand-made by the owners over the past 40 years or so. The owner is an artist with a taste for the medieval and whimsical. We stayed in the tower room, and the accommodations were very pleasant. The bed was comfortable, the private bathroom had everything we needed and the complimentary coffee and coffee maker in the room was great!Since this is the owner's residence too, I'd call before arriving.

We were lucky as Peter Wing was greeting us as we entered....his knowledge of all the "stuff' in the castle is wide ranging...to realize that he and his wife actually live among the artifacts is awesome...musty atmosphere for sure, but worth the time and money....the view from his "Stonehedge" is absolutely astonishing....he is a bit eccentric, but I guess one must be to work on a project like this for 40 years....
