Did the paid tour through the distillery. Hands on experience that end with a tasting. You get a chance to see / sample the different brands. We got to sample some bourbon fresh out of the barrel unfiltered. You can also choose to wash to have your own bottle of Knob Creek filled and sealed. This can be picked up after the tour. Each ticket allows you to have two samples, so the more the more people in your group, the more you can taste. Got some Jim Bean labels and got to learn a bit of the Bourbon business.I might recommend doing a couple weekdays if you want do more of the whole trail tour.

This was our first distillery tour and we loved it. The tour guide was very friendly and knowledgeable. Taking a whiff of the fermenting mash inside the huge vats was so memorable! The tasting at the end of the tour was wonderful to top everything off!

We enjoyed the friendly staff and the hands on tour. Great price and very informative about the history of Jim Beam.

I only had time to shop at "The Store" and purchase a couple bottles of Beam for my friends. I go to Bardstown every July and visit the distilleries and take in the open air musicals i.e. "The Stephen Foster Story" and whatever added musical for the summer. The area is a great place to visit plus the Perryville Civil War Battlefield if you are interested. I have only good things to say about the people in the area and it is always a treat to meet very nice and kind folks. I would love to give a SHOUT OUT to Auria at the Jim Beam American Stillhouse, this lady was such a delight in my day. Thank You Jim Beam for having wonderful employees.

The tour is very information and fun along the way. We loved hearing about the history, seeing the architecture and participating in the grain to glass process as well as tasting bourbon along it's journey to the final product. The $10 includes the 90 minute tour, a souvenir glass (7.95 value) and two decent sized pours of your choice including some of the more exclusive ones like the aged Booker's at 128.6 proof.

This tour is EXCELLENT. My husband and I like to do these kids of guided tours when we travel, so we have done plenty. This was the best tour we've ever done, hands down. It is only $10 per person, the tour is 90 minutes and does require some walking but it's not challenging at all. You get to see and participat in the entire process from grain to glass. It's amazing. I kept asking if this was just for show or really the actual distillery equipment, it really was! We even bought a bottle of knob creek that we bottled and sealed ourselves and you got to stick a finger in the mash and the pre-barreled whiskey. Our tour guide, Hunter was super engaging, he had an answer for every question and chatted with is quite a bit. He was knowledgable and full of fun facts. Really wonderful. A MUST SEE TOUR. I don't even drink, and I had a great time. P.s. At the end of the tour you get two pours of any Beam product and a free glass!

This is a must see if your in the area. Very informative about the history and the process. The end of the tour is when the fun begins.

The Jim Beam tour was awesome. We did 6 distillery tours, and this one was the coolest, but also one of the most touristy. I personally liked their presentation and exhibit based tour.

A fun way to spend 2 hours in Kentucky. The distilling process was well explained, just a shame the tasting is not very personal, but you get a free glass. Overall, no complaints!

Cool distillery and great tour! Our guide Josh was awesome! best part was informal (and optional) cask strength tasting. Best product we had out of the 11 distilleries visited!! Fun bottling/waxing and fingerprinting your own bottle for purchase! Tasting was done very modernly and a lot of product to chose from....most of it awesome!

An outstanding tourist attraction, especially for bourbon fans. There are several buildings, each explaining a part of the process. Starting from sourcing the grains, to a barrel making demonstration by an employee of the stave company. The entire distilling process is explained. There is a store for product purchases. Also Fred"s Smokehouse on site has reasonably priced food, ice cream and soda. Sit at a picnic table and enjoy the beautiful view of the manicured lawns and over the Kentucky countryside.

The tour is well worth the ten dollar price. Theresa was very knowledgeable about the history and the making process. She easily answered all questions the group came up with. So much fun! The tour ends at the tasting room where you get two samples. And making your own bottle of Knob Creek was a blast. Highly recommended!

Jim Beam is an American legend and a household name for a reason. And the Stillhouse is where it all began. It's a fantastic way to spend a morning or afternoon for both the family and the alcohol connisour. There are three areas you can spend time in and they are the free self guided tour, the paid tour, and the gift shop with restaurant action. You'll want to do all three. The first thing I recommend doing is going on the free self guided tour. Although most of the information is going to be covered in the guided tour, it still is very interesting. Depending on how long you want to take, this bit can take anywhere from 10-30 minutes to complete, and comes with a free tasting at the end of the tour. After the self guided tour, take the guided tour. It is relatively inexpensive and free for military. If you are a history buff, then this will be a fantastic tour. It goes through the history of the bourbon, what makes it bourbon, and of course how its made. You'll get taken through the areas where they make small batch bourbon, large batch bourbon, the aging warehouses and more. You also get an opportunity to bottle your very own bottle of small batch bourbon. I am now the proud owner of a bottle of Jim Beam Single Barrel Bourbon that will never be consumed. The tour will take more than an hour, but it passes very quickly. Again, there is a free tasting at the end of the tour. The tour ends in the tasting building and, freshly saturated with Jim Beam propaganda, the tour guide suggests a stop by the gift shop where you can purchase any of their Jim Beam and affiliate merchandise. They sell all the different types of bourbon there, and you can also get a label with your face printed on the side. It is an otherwise normal gift shop with branding on everything you can expect, glasses, shirts, hats, food products, and so on. You can even buy a used barrel there. There is also a small restaurant on grounds that offers some pretty decent BBQ. I am a particular sucker for BBQ so I enjoyed lunch there and I did not regret it. Bottom line: There is no way you can have a bad time at the Jim Beam Stillhouse, nestled in the beautiful rolling hills of Kentucky. History and culture wait at every turn for anyone wiling to take the time to listen. Do yourself a favor and go on the tour!

Went on this tour for my birthday and had the best time! Learned about the history and process of making bourbon. Even got to taste some! Can't wait for my kids to get old enough to take them.

What a pleasant surprise this faciliity was on our way through for business. While we only went to the gift shop, the whole grounds had a real quaint feeling. Beautifully landscaped and manicured, the buildings and ground looked like a museum. We didn't have time for the tour, but we went into the tasting room where the gentleman working there gave us a card that allowed us two free taste tests. We ended up each buying a bottle of whiskey while we were there. I went with the maple.Next time we are in the area, I will take the tour as it looked worth the visit.
