The trails are a lot of fun. It is a truly serious climb to the very top of the mountain, but the lower trails are very scenic with lots of ups and downs. This year the snow has been great. In some years the snow has been spotty at best. Rentals are available. The trails could probably be groomed more regularly. There are a lot of beginner skiers who come out and don't know (and clearly aren't told) that the classic skis are designed to go into the parallel tracks, So if you are a skate skier, don't be surprised to see your track filled with beginner classic skiers. I'd give it a "good" rating; if the trails were groomed more regularly I'd rate it higher.

Visited Northfield for a day of snowshoe. Great location. Plenty of dedicated miles of trails for snowshoers. Also, a tidy and warm building to change in and get a snack. Had the upper mountain trails to myself.

Great skiing! Many well marked trails. Not crowded. Friendly people. Trails for all abilities. We will return!

Great ski. Very demanding. A lot of long uphills but plenty of payback, fun downhills. Well-groomed. Will return.

Path to the summit was a lot of work with not that much of a view. But it was rewarding to know we made it. Only blue trail we tried was a bit narrow for my level with the turns required. Plenty of green trails to keep me busy and we explored less than half of the trails available. Well maintained and worth the trip.

We hit this place at the perfect time- It has snowed almost every day for the last few weeks so the conditions were perfect! Not knowing the place we decided to start on the Easiest trails , If you take Reservoir road it continues up up up then you can cut over to a few others that are Blue (more difficult) but they really wern't bad at all with all the fresh snow. I wish we had more time to explore more of the trails but What we did see was Excellent. coming back down Reservoir road could have been very fast and tricky had the snow not been so perfect since it is a bit steep, so take this into account if your skiing here. $12 trail fee is very reasonable.

My wife and I love this place. Unfortunately there isn't always enough snow. This is bad for us, but I'm sure it's worse for them. When it is open it is a lot of fun up there on the side of the mountain. We like the sidewinder trail coming down. It is a great local place for cross country skiing and I really recommend it.

I came here with a winter camp and the main rule is: always keep your clothing on and zipped...do not take it off until your allowed to.The camp emailed all the parents saying it'll be a cold day so make sure your kids bundle up. Well...my parents made me bundle up with snow bib pants, a down jacket liner and a heavy insulated jacket. I was bundled up at home and the bus ride was way too hot with all the clothes on. Anyways, once we got to the Ski area and got ski's/boots and put them on/went outside. When we were outside learning how to Cross Country Ski...I was so hot in my jackets. I asked a camp person if I could take it off and they said, "No. You have no where to put it." So while we were 30 minutes or so into CCS I unzipped my insulated coat and got yelled at and had to zip it back up. It was 50 degrees the day we were CCS. We CCS for 4 hours and then finally went back home.**They do have lockers in the bathroom but they don't lock.

Granted some years there is very little snow, but even when there is snow they don't always open. Seems like the x-country ski part of the operation is not a priority. Unfortunate because it is a terrific place to ski!

Nice grooming, friendly staff, nice break room. A bit hilly for beginners, but fun. Pretty woods.
