edgartown lighthouse

We were very unimpressed with MV. That being said, the Edgartown lighthouse was beautiful in a perfect setting. Seeing Chappy in the background was scenic, especially when eating at the Harbor View Hotel. Walking to the lighthouse and on the nearby beach was a true vacation experience.

This one is particularly easy to walk to from street side parking. It is set in a very natural environment, with sea grasses and a picturesque harbor nearby

Good for ones soul, even when alone or with loved ones of any age. We usually visit this lighthouse several times each year.

If you are visiting Martha's Vineyard, you should definitely visit the Edgartown Lighthouse. It's just a 15 minute walk from downtown Edgartown. Start your day here, you won't regret it !

Take the 5-10 minute walk from the Harbor View grounds to this gorgeous landmark. It's worth the trek. Great bird-watching all around, as well as stunning scenery.

You can see the lighthouse from Water Street, but you need to take the stroll down the path to the lighthouse. If you want to go up in it, it will cost you $5.

The walk there is the best part! It's beautiful, very scenic. The lighthouse looks beautiful in the distance. You get there and a woman is behind a rope asking for $5 for the preservation society in order to climb the stairs. It ruins the moment. Thought - perhaps getting peoples money while they are walking there would feel better to people then getting there and met with that. It feels awful. We all would gladly pay (maybe even more than $5) but being asked for money is at the wrong point in the experience.

The lighthouse is near the ocean and we enjoyed walking past the lighthouse and taking in the beauty of the ocean. A must see and a great photo opportunity. : )

Took a morning walk out to the lighthouse, the street lighting was still on and it was a great walk, this is an easy walk, and is such a great start to the day...

I am a lighthouse buff and so I go to all them when in the area of one. Sits out on the beach in front of the Harbor View Hotel across the water from Chappy. Owned by a non-profit foundation so they asked for a $5 donation to up to the top. Not a tall lighthouse but worth the $5 to see Edgartown from above.

A walk out from the center of Edgartown down to the lighthouse is one of my favorite things to do on the Vineyard. If you can get there for sunrise you will be in for a treat. Have Sunday brunch at The Harborview and enjoy a short walk to the Lighthouse afterwards.

Perfect Location for a nice family getaway. First time in the area and I felt very relax. I will be back.

A lighthouse is a lighthouse to me but the walk around it and along the beach was pretty. Good views of Nantucket . The old whalers houses are fun to look at. worth a look

Gorgeous views at the top! Especially if you sneak outside! There is a fee to go up and there is a ladder to climb so you must be willing to climb up and down it.
