the kennedy farm

Even though this site turned out to be different than what I envisioned, it was good to see the actual place so I could picture it correctly. It gives you a real sense of the time period as it is still secluded. I wish one was able to enter the buildings though.

This was off the beaten path and didn't look like very many people visited. It was well preserved and a great find for the Civil War buff. I only wish we could get to the big rock in the yard to read the bronze plate inscription.

A terribly underfunded ( privately by locals) historical site, the farm remains an important site to understand the gathering storm of Civil War. Follow the road to Harpers Ferry and think about a small group of men attempting to bring on a rebellion.Kennedy Farm is just as plain and unassuming as it was in 1859, that is the appeal for me.
