This is a welcome addition to Midland. We really like going to see the Rockhounds. It is well planned to block the West Texas sun and wind. Free parking!

For Midland, Texas it is not bad .Good size , easy to get around .Kids area , nice for families .Typical ballpark food, would never allow my dogs to eat.So don't go hungry.

There are activities almost every weekend at the complex. The city has done a good job of maintaining the facility. We are always proud to show it off to visitors

My parents are huge soccer fans, so when they came to Midland for a visit the whole family went to see the Midland Sockers, and we really enjoyed the game, and the beautiful stadium. Great seats, clean, well lit, and reasonably priced,

The Scharbauer Sport Complex is made up of a football stadium, Grande Communications Stadium, and a baseball field, Security Bank Ballpark. The football stadium is home field for the two 6A high schools in Midland, Midland High School and Midland Lee High School. It also serves as the home field for the professional soccer team, the West Texas Soccers. The stadium does not have a track around the field and that was by design. It affords fans a much closer view of the action on the field. The home side features box seating identical to the seating found in the new Cowboy Stadium in Arlington (Jerry's World). The visitor's side features bench seating with a back rail to provide extra back support while watching the Midland teams pulverize their opponents. The stadium seats 15,000 with two grass berms on each end of the stadium which can hold a few more thousand fans when the cross-town rival meet each year. The baseball park is home to the professional AA- Midland Rockhounds, a farm club to the Oakland A's. The local high school teams are also provided some opportunities to compete on the field from time to time. This stadium has earned high honors from MLB as one of the top minor-league venues in the country. Comfortable seating and multiple types of food and beverages can be purchased during the games. About a dozen luxury suites are available to companies and individuals who are willing to plunk down the necessary cash. Two picnic areas can host company outings and a large playground area can be found beyond the outfield fence for the kids. A huge grass berm surrounds the outfield for fans who prefer to bring their lawn chairs and blankets. This is a must-see during the baseball season. I call it the Lay's Potato chip ballpark, because you will not be able to attend just once. This complex also has a Pavilion area which hosts many community events and fun runs. This sports complex is a gem and contributes mightily to a great quality of life for Midlanders and West Texans alike.

Great venue to see the Midland Rockhounds, the Double A affiliate of the Oakland As.Great way to spend a spring or summer afternoon or evening in West Texas.Even more unusual is the 15,000 seat stadium where you can see the Midland/Odessa Sockers, a minor league soccer team.
